a must for pre-clinical years of medical school

Advantages: excellent pictures, easy to understand text
Disadvantages: the index is a bit confusing

I bought this book half-way through my second year in medical school, and oh how I regretted not buying it sooner!! It has got most of the stuff that you need to know in anatomy (at least, it has most of the stuff that I need to fill in my workbook - so it does has pretty much everything in the syllabus). The text is really comprehensive, and it is not just coloured anatomy pictures and text, but it also includes important medical conditions related ...
...figures which come in real handy when you need to memorise all the different blood vessels and nerve endings (especially when exams and spot test are just around the corner). The only thing that I don't like about this book is that the index section at the back can be a bit confusing. You have to look carefully to find out what you're looking for. Clinically Oriented Anatomy

Advantages: In depth anatomy
Disadvantages: Diagrams can be confusing

I used this book for both my anatomy special study modules on head and neck and upper and lower limbs at University and it proved to be very helpful. It has pretty much everything you need to know for anatomy. The description can be a little long winded but provides good detail. The book is generally well organised and easy to follow. It was really comprehensive and including descriptions of clinical conditions associated with the cranial nerves.
