Clinique was originally founded in 1968 by a single dermatologist who began with an assumption that hygeine and cleanliness was the beginning to treating all skin conditions e.g. dry, oily, normal or breakout skin.     As anyone who has read any of my previous reviews will know I am a big fan of Clinique, so when a magazine was offering this mascara free with the purchase, I decided I had to try it.     As a mum of three young kids, I don't usually have the spare cash for premium make up brands such as Clinique (let alone the occasion to wear them anymore!) The one item of make up that I wear on a daily basis is mascara, so when I discovered that Glamour magazine were giving away Clinique products with each copy, it was the mascara that I really wanted. I bought several copies and managed to get hold of a small tube of black mascara for the cost of the magazine.     When it comes to make-up for a good look you should only ever choose to play up one area at any time; for me, it's always the eyes. If there was one make-up product that I could not live without, it has to be mascara. I can (reluctantly) go the day without any other make-up item, but I feel naked without mascara as I have been cursed with miserably short, fine, barely there eye lashes. When it comes to my choice of mascara, I love to have that exaggerated, very defined, over-the-top-lashes look. So I always choose a thickening mascara.     Advantages Advantages Excellent brush and it really seperates my lashes whilst giving good volume.

    I tend to try and hold off buying my Clinique skin care until they have one of their frequent free gift offers on, and when they do, this mascara often seems to crop up in them. Just yesterday I was buying products from Clinique in Debenhams for the current free gift, and yet again this mascara was included inside. I seem to have several of these mini ones lying around, and only around a month ago did I actually start to use them.     ''Wear it once and you'll feel naked without it.'' That's what I read as I was flicking through my magazine and stumbled across an ad for Clinique High Impact Mascara. Hmmm...intriguing. I love my mascara. Being half Asian, I (oh so unluckily) inherited my mother's short eyelashes, so I could empathise with this claim, as I do tend to feel a bit 'naked' without my mascara brushed onto my pathetic little lashes.     Why I want the product Like every woman in this world we are always on the look out for the next best mascara and with hundreds to choose from the task can be a daunting and expensive one if you get it wrong. You can purchase a cheaper brand and find it dries your lashes out and eventually they will be damaged and fall out or you can purchase a high price tag one and find it is perfect but too expensive to keep purchasing.     Clinique is a premium brand under the Estee Lauder name. They sell various cosmetics, skincare and perfume products at the mid-high range budget. Product High Impact is one of many Clinique Mascara ranges. It is designed to give maximum volume, definition and length to your eyelashes.     A while ago, the Clinique counter in Boots was offering free samples of mascara if you brought in an old mascara to exchange. I obtained both samples available, including the High Impact Mascara which this review is about. I was never previously bothered about Clinique products – I’d always seen the brand as rather ‘clinical’ and dull, and had a bad experience with the 3-step skincare system several years ago, but I’ve had good experiences with the products I’ve tried recently.
