The sound is very good, loud and clear. It also has two headphone jacks, which is good if you have friends.
Battery life is reasonable, I think about 3-4 hours, although I've never watched it for this long continuously. It does run the battery down if its turned off with the battery attached, so I always remove the battery when I'm not using it. A spot annoying, but ...
