No matter how many reviews I read, no matter how many people tried to tell me otherwise, I refused myself to believe that a soft drink manufactured by coca cola had no sugar or fat content, despite a much convincing name! I struggled even more to come to terms with the fact that it had less than 1 calorie! This just seemed so unlikely and, in my mind, quite impossible!
Though, I'll never be one to turn to arrogance; I was prepared to open my mind ... ...in this day in age where anything can happen, they had come up with alternatives and there really was a fizzy drink out there with such minor nutrition values! There was only one thing to do to rest my mind; see for myself!
Before our weekly trip to Asda, I added Coca Cola Zero to the shopping list. As we headed up the drinks aisle, my head was rotating from left to right, my eyes scanning the shelves for the correct bottle. Eventually, near the ...

...as a lover of normal coca-cola I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about.
I must admit that the black packaging had put me off a bit, I mean, unless its a sleek new 'phone or dress to dine out in, black is not really a colour that can enthuse me enough to get my taste buds a jingle!
Any way, I was lucky, (well so I thought) I was given a free sample to try on Victoria station. Okay, so the packaging - what I had seen and what I was expecting ... ...at it, but was excited to see what all the hype was about.
Anyway I carried the container onto the tube with me -ready to take a sip - but just as I was about to , I noticed a messy ink stain on my hand, my hand was literally black from holding the can. Not a good start for the new product. I did not open the container but concentrated on wiping my hand. I did not want to pick up the drink again, but felt bad leaving it, so wrapped it in the tissue ...

Coke zero is the newest and supposedly hottest coke brand, its being marketed for those who want maximum taste without the sugars, preservatives and comes in a catching black background with zero in bold white letters. Coke zero has become in its short period on the market one of the most popular coke drinks, and though pepsi max might be a better product its bold design and imaginative advertising has made it a market leader. Advantages: No Sugar, No Fats Disadvantages: Possible problems with substances, Poor taste, over bubbliness
Completing the Grandslam of Coca-Cola and their 4 main drinks is the Coca-Cola Zero drink that is quite similar to Diet Coke in the selling points of the product as it's there to be low in Sugar and Calories. Hopefully however this didn't follow in it's Diet brother footsteps too much, as that was an appalling drink that seemed to rip up the Coca-Cola name and try to destroy it in 1 fell swoop. This however seems to be seen as the direct rival to ... ...whilst the bottle keeps the Coca-Cola design of a “mutated rocket” bottle with the Coca-Cola logo on the side. The label as in common in the industry mentions the nutritional information and the ingredients used in the product, whilst the black looks rather sleek and sexy, rather alluring to be honest. The deep dark caramel matching the packaging almost perfectly, a clever idea well done, sadly the trick was missed with Cherry Coke which would have ...

Advantages: Tastes Like The Real Thing, No Sugar, Low Calories. Disadvantages: Contains Aspartame And Lots Of Caffeine.
Coca Cola Zero was launched in the United States during the early part of 2005 and reached the UK at the back end of that same year. This product has recently been the subject of a massive advertising campaign here in the UK, and finally I have succumb the temptation and decided to give it a try.
This latest addition to Coca Cola's Soft Drink's portfolio has been launched in response to criticisms that most other Diet Soft Drinks are tasteless, ... ...as a direct rival to the World's current biggest selling Diet Cola - Pepsi Max.
If we are to believe the advertising blurb then we are told that this is something new and exciting, but one thing that we are not told is that this new and exciting Drink is a Diet Drink at all. In fact the marketing people at Coca Cola are making a real conscious effort to avoid the word Diet completely, and instead Coca Cola Zero is described simply as a zero Sugar ...

...can be off-putting compared to Coca-Cola and it can be uncomfortably fizzy...so don't try this with a hot curry! Coke Zero is now readily available in all retailers so the likelihood is you can pick this up any place that'll sell regular Coca-Cola and Diet Coke as well. If you want a substitute for the world-famous brand, then I'd recommend Coke Zero...however, when you consider the ingredients list and the E-numbers, do you really want it that badly? ...

There are loads of different varieties of Coca Cola these days including the newest "Coca-Cola Orange" which just seems completely pointless to me but thats for another review! Coca Cola Zero, released in late 2005 (UK), is so called because it claims to be the calorie free cola and in this goes even further than the usual sugar-free "diet" variety. I'd like to point out at this point that Coke sell their products in a huge number of countries and ... ...So, for the record this review is on the UK version of Coca Cola Zero!

"Great coke taste, zero sugar"
THE REVIEWER…
I used to be an avid cola drinking. And just old any cola wouldn't do, it had to be the branded Coca-Cola. This is not because I have to have the real brand, it's a matter of taste. For some reason I can taste the difference, even minute differences between supermarket coke brands, low calorie brands, caffeine free coke, low sugar coke and all the rest. And they ... ...However, we all know that coca cola like many of the other brands is bursting with hidden sugars. Its scary. In one can of coke you will find around 6 tea spoons of sugar, possibly more. As well as the calories, it rots your teeth, can play havoc with blood sugar levels. A sudden surge of high sugar foods and drinks can actually lead to type two diabetes and weight gain and the body cant cope with constantly producing insulin to deal with all this ...

...priority - according to the Coca-Cola company. In reality, the release of the new Coca-Cola Zero range is a sales tactic. Sales of the both the original brand and the diet version have fallen, and so the company has released this new variant in hopes that you, the customer, will once again become aware that The Coca-Cola Company does exist. In a few months it will be pulled from the shelves, meanwhile sales of other versions of coke will have mysteriously ... ...snugly in the middle between Coca-Cola (a huge amount of calories with the same amount of taste), and Diet Coca-Cola which contains very few calories, but is lacking on the pallet (that's just my opinion.) Advantages: Absolutely no calorific value to speak of Disadvantages: They've sacrificed the taste.
I first tried Coca-Cola Zero when I was in a particularly bad mood, and came away entirely unimpressed; however, never let it be said that I am unwilling to give a product a second chance. So, in the spirit of willing enquiry, I ventured out and purchased an icy-cold bottle of Coca-Cola Zero...
I have to admit, I'm not really sold on Coke Zero. I'm not sold on the advertising, which tries to appeal to the common man, but is really just alienating ... ...immediately place this as a Coca-Cola product in a blind sniff test.
However, it's when you take your first mouthful that you realise something has gone dreadfully wrong with this product. Coca-Cola classic is a mouth-filling, tastebud-shrivelling product as sugar and acids battle in the war-zone of your mouth for supremacy. No such conflict here. Coke Zero swills around your tongue in a lacklustre manner, and is then gone. No flavour explosion. ...

Advantages: Better for you than normal coke Disadvantages: Still does not have that great coca cola taste
We have recently started buying this because my partner drinks an awful lot of coke but has recently decided he wants to be a bit healthier. Neither of us can stand the taste of diet coke so we thought this was worth a try. This drink comes across as being the mans version of diet coke, unlike the normal coke its packaged in a black can, with red and silver writing so I would say the packaging is definitely aimed towards the male market. Now this ... ...it, when I mean nothing I mean, zero sugar, zero fat, zero saturates, trace of salt, in fact the only thing a can has is 1.8 calories (the same as diet cola), now a normal can of coke has 147 calories and 31.7g of sugar so the cola zero is a massive improvement. I'm not saying coke zero is good for you (as it still has all the caffeine and E numbers in it) it's just better than normal coke. Now to the taste, well where do I start, Diet coke taste ...

...don't know much about the Coca-Cola company itself but I've tried many of their versions and regular Coke has to be the best. Diet tastes awful and the others are just not the same. So when I heard about Coke Zero and it being made with sweetener I thought I would just have to give it a try.

The smell is the same as all the different Cokes which I like. Its a smell that everyone knows and is very distinguishable.

I have been itching to get my mitts on a can of this ever since I saw the advertisment on the television the other day. Finally, the little stores close to where I work have caught on to the trend and decided to stock some supplies of Coca Cola Zero on a trial basis.
Nutritionally, I was most impressed. 'There's nothing in it!' I exclaimed when i turned to the back of the can and saw a full list of zeros for things like fat and sodium. Like I'm ... ...0g and the calories are a minute 0.5 which translates as 0.5kj of energy.
I am drinking the 'fat' version although admittedly I would normally opt for the diet. (Is there two versions...my can is mainly black unlike the picture above suggests). On opening the can I did find it to be almost on par with the normal red cola, but it wasn't as sharp on the tongue. The after-taste lingers a little more than the normal variety also but it isn't a major ...

I've recently seen adverts on telly of Coca Cola Zero. My friend was given a free can of this the other day outside Woolworth's and he enjoyed it. After seeing the adverts and my friend saying he enjoyed it, I thought I'd give it a shot. So, in whilst shopping in Asda today I noticed these on the checkout so picked a bottle of it up. The labelling is predominantly black with white smattering on it. In small letters on the front is says 'great coke tast - zero sugar'. I like the look of the packaging as it's very modern looking and very new. It stands out from the other drinks an is very noticable.
