Ho, Ho, *Hic*

Advantages: Deservedly the leading brand of carbonated cola drinks.
Disadvantages: Ultimate symbol of despicable capitalism, and it leaves your mouth sticky.

...belongs to the ludicrously rich Coca-Cola Corporation, which has ensured through endless and unstoppable advertising to ingrain the idea into the minds of everyone that their product is the best. But is it true? Well, probably. Even in my worst excesses of cola binge drinking, this expensive product would usually be substituted for a cheaper supermarket equivalent or occasionally the arch rival Pepsi, which is forced to resort to numerous special ...
...I came to regard Coca-Cola as the rich man's Asda Just Cola, at the opposite end of the scale to undrinkable, leafy 21p bargain brands (which can also be detected by the presence of 'American-style,' 'star' or 'pop' in the title). It doesn't deserve such special recognition for essentially including the same ingredients in a slightly nicer tasting composition - and apparently based somewhere down the line on lemons as opposed to Pepsi's orange, at ...

Its the rust-killing thing

Advantages: You can be part of a worldwide success story
Disadvantages: You might lose your intestines

Advertisements for Coca-Cola go back two centuries, to 1893. Coke was first made as a health drink, as the early slogans showed. The first claims would have been hard to prove, if there had been advertising standards in those days – “The ideal brain tonic” (1893), “Coca-cola revives and sustains” (1905 – an early Viagra?!), “Ice cold sunshine” (1932), “The best friend thirst ever had” (1938), ...
...They did a range of Coca-Cola beanies a couple of years ago. There was a beanie from each country that produced Coca-Cola, each with a tiny Coke bottle. The Chinese one was a panda, for instance. The year 2000 saw the launch of a simple slogan, “Coca-Cola. Enjoy”, and the ‘magic’ adverts, which featured people from all over the world having fun while enjoying Coke. The newest ad campaign, launched in April 2001, gets personal, ...

I NEED MY COKE FIX

Advantages: thirst quencher of all time!
Disadvantages: very addictive

It’s amazing the things that you do without realising you’re doing them sometimes. Watching TV for hours on end but not taking in what you’re watching. Staring into space when there’s nothing else to do. AND THE AMOUNT OF COCA COLA I DRINK IN A DAY !!! It has just suddenly struck me that I must go through about 4-5 cans of this fizzy drink a day, even more so when I’m in possession of my favourite tipples Jack Daniels ...
...these two spirits. So why is my “coke addiction” so bad that I do not even realise it is overtaking my entire existence? Lets start with a little bit of history on “The Real Thing”. *** HISTORY *** We have to go back all the way to 1886 for the “birth” of Coca Cola. Take one pharmacist from Atlanta, Georgia USA called John Pemberton. Searching for a elixir to cure headaches he stumbles across a concoction made ...

A pleasant tasting soft drink

Advantages: Refreshing and tasty
Disadvantages: Potentially harmful

...and the ‘hipness’ of coca-cola. Coca-cola realized the power of TV and from the outset used this media to promote its product using powerful stars such as Roy Orbison, Max Headroom and The New Seekers (with their memorable hit ‘I’d like to teach the world to sing’ ‘It’s the real thing’ has been around nearly 30 years, perhaps becoming the most famous slogan that Coca-Cola had. ...level trying to give Coca-Cola a family appeal. However we look at it, the advertising is working as Coca-Cola is one of the most popular sodas throughout the world. Coca-cola is a carbonated drink that adds elements of Vanilla, Caffeine, Cocoa, Lime Juice, Orange, Cinnamon, Caramel etc to produce a pleasant tasting drink. Coca Cola is perhaps one of the fizziest colas in existence; this gives cola a distinctive texture and feel, and ...

COCA-COLA SERIOUSLY DAMAGES HEALTH

Advantages: An icon of modern America, has a great, sleek image, tastes nice
Disadvantages: Loads of sugar, very bad for your teeth and stomach. And yet another gigantic coporation.

...everywhere. We've all heard how Coca-Cola can dissolve a tooth if its left in a glass of Coke for several days but Coke's sales still remain sky high and it remains an icon and symbol of modern America. The taste ~~ Coca-Cola has a unique taste and to be completely honest I would describe it as unnatural. Most other soft drinks are made from a fruit, even though they contain hardly any of it. For example all the Tango drinks are made up of fruits, ...
...thirst. The truth is that Coca-Cola actually makes you thirstier, like most fizzy drinks. As you'll probably know the best thing to drink when really thirsty is water. And if not water a still orange squash should do the trick. A hot cuppa tea also apparently quenches thirst well. The taste of Coca-Cola is nice though; it has a bitter but sweet taste. Coca-Cola comes in several varieties, Classic Coke, (the ordinary stuff) Diet Coke, Caffeine Free ...

Is it the real thing or a wily imposter

Advantages: If you drink to much you never need to sleep
Disadvantages: If you drink too much you can't get to sleep

...Now, most people know what Coca-Cola (or "COKE" as it is often referred, not to be confused with cocaine, which is white and powdery, not brown and fizzy) tastes quite nice, a hard to define sugary, caramelly, well coca-colay taste. The liks of ROla COla and Panda COla never quite manage to emulate the same taste. Its a little too fizzy, but htis can be rectified by shaking the can or bottle really hard and then letting it spray all over, what little ...
...op. Check out the Coca-Cola caffeine free op too, its a rare insight not to be missed. I've written a poem about COke to cement your opinion of this op. Might as well face it im addicted to Coke.

Advantages: Makes me feel good love the taste
Disadvantages: Rots my insides and my teeth.

Just like Robert Palmer sang in the 80's only this time its not love. Love is nice and all that but not as nice as Coke! I am a Coke addict. I can't help it, I just am. It all began as a teenager. After years of buying us Orange Squash and Lemon Barley, we were introduced to Coke. A lovely taste and an tingling sensation as the gassy drink flowed around my mouth. Instant hit. It was sweet to taste and just had a moorish flavour. Lets talk about ...
...the last century in America, Dr John Stith Pemberton, A chemist developed a Cola Syrup for aches and pains. So essentially it started life as a medicine! It was accidentally mixed up with a soda water in the chemist's store to make swallowing the mixture easier and hey presto! Coke in its carbonated form was born! Pemberton's accountant named the syrup "Coca Cola" after its main ingredients, African Kola Nut and leaves from a Coca Plant. Both of ...

Don't get addicted!

Advantages: Tastes great cold.
Disadvantages: Highly addictive and full of sugar!

Without a doubt Coca cola is one of the biggest selling soft drink in history, and one of the best known names in the world. Coca Cola can be found in areas of the world where there are little money and little population; it's without question being a widespread phenomenon for many years. Coca cola is in fact so famous that the word 'Coca-Cola' is even thought to be the second most widely acknowledged word in the world after 'OK'! History Coca Cola ...

...Coke. The fizz in coca-cola is just right. I hate flat soft drinks, they just make me feel sick and I don’t really like it when it is so fizzy it burns your mouth and goes through your nose – if you don’t believe me try Tesco’s own lemonade! Coca-Cola has just the right amount of fizz but I still wouldn’t drink it in a hurry if I was going to something like a quiet meeting as it has a habit of coming back up! The packaging on the cans is distinctly ...
...plague. You can buy coca-cola from just about anywhere. Shops, Vending Machines, Cafes, Street Stalls, you name it. You can even buy coke in Boots and Superdrug! There are many advantages to coca-cola; it is highly refreshing – especially on hot days, it has a lovely amount of fizz and it tastes gorgeous. The only disadvantage is that it can sometimes be expensive – especially in leisure centres, but the prices of Pepsi seem to be similar so you ...

...two different ways. On the one side, you can buy this tasty drink in a 330 ml beverage box. It’s very cheap to buy this beverage box, in germany you have to pay 30 Euro-Cent. But the big problem about this method is, that beverage boxes musst be recycle in a special way! The much better possibility is, that you buy this drink in plastik-bottles. You just go into the supermarket and you can choose about 500 ml, 1000ml, 1500 ml and 2000 ml bottles! ...

Always Coca Cola

Advantages: Tastes great cold
Disadvantages: Tastes nasty warm

...Yum. These promptly failed leaving Coca-Cola to corner the market and become the multinational corporation they are today. In today’s world it is estimated that Coca-Cola is drunk more than 773,000,000 times a day. Personally I have always found this somewhat odd as fizzy drinks are not highly associated with veggies and as the can clearly states Coca-Cola is made with vegetable extracts, not fruit, as one would assume. The typical way Coke is ...
...its shape. However the words Coca-Cola written in their easily identifiable white script are clearly seen upon its main red background along with the word “ enjoy “. Even though the design on the can changes all the time it is very easy to spot a new design as they all follow the same guiding principals that make Coke a highly recognisable product. The taste is somewhat of an enigma really. Yes it is sweet but not in a normal way that fruit fizzy ...

Always Coca Cola

Advantages: Tastes nice
Disadvantages: LOTS of sugar

Coca Cola, along with McDonalds, is one of the only words that translate into every single language, that is how popular the brand is. This is proved by the fact that 7,000 Coke products are consumed every second. The drink was first made and sold in 1886, by an American called Dr. Pemberton, who made the first ever Coca Cola in his back garden! Coke was the first in a long line of products that followed. Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Coke, Cherry Coke, ...
...from the original drink. The Coca Cola Company also own other popular drinks such as Sprite and Tab. Coke also have their own brand of clothing available too. Coke tastes very sweet, and you can tell there is caffeine in it as it gives you energy. It is lovely to drink at any time of day, whatever the weather. You can drink it with a meal, or just something to quench your thirst. One place not to drink Coke is on a first date due to its colour. ...

Give me my caffeine!!!!!

Advantages: Great taste
Disadvantages: caffeine, calories, expense and addiction!

...wondering why I’m writing about Coca-cola (Coke), but I shall tell you anyway!! Over the last couple of years I have developed a massive caffeine addiction! All due I must say to Coke and not tea or coffee. I think this mostly comes from my mum, as the only drink she will drink is Coke, and used to argue with my dad if he drank the last of the Coke, once even storming out to search for somewhere still open to buy some! I didn’t think ...
...A little history; Coca-cola was invented in 1886, by Dr J Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia, US. It was sold in Jacob’s pharmacy as syrup for adding to water and marketed as a health drink. The fizzy bit happened when someone asked for soda instead of still water and this kinda stuck. It’s said to have originally contained cocaine, due to the ingredients, but apparently they removed the cocaine fairly early on. In 1900 Coke made its way ...

Is it the Real Thing

Advantages: Consistent quality and taste
Disadvantages: price and can be detrimental to stomach problems and tooth decay

Although claimed by the manufacturers to be “The original and best” Coca Cola has genuine competition these days from the likes of Virgin Cola and Pepsi, however whether due to advertising or simple brand loyalty Coca Cola is still number one. You would think that a cola drink was a cola drink was a cola drink – not so… and differences between even the classic Coca Cola we know and love are obvious depending on how you buy ...
...in 2 litre bottles as I feel it tastes better. My partner will only drink it from a can, while my sister will only buy it in the little 500ml bottles. And yes it is true – they all taste slightly different depending on the packaging. Cans have more fizz and ‘burn’ the back of your throat, while the two litre bottles I prefer taste more rounded without the feeling of gas exploding into your mouth. The smaller bottles have the burn ...
