I have a thing about clean teeth. I smoke, so I tend to brush my teeth, chew gum and suck mints a lot to keep my breath smelling fresh. I bought an electric toothbrush a few years ago and it has been fantastic and I can definitely tell that my teeth are a lot brighter than they used to be. (Though that can all be changed with one heavy night of red wine and a few packets of cigarettes!) I have for as long as I can remember included flossing in my daily cleaning regime. I don't think many people realise how important it is to floss and its not until you start to do it that you realise how much ... more

Advantages Advantages No bleeding or shredding!!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Packaging nothing exceptional.

My favourite joke concerning flossing was one I saw on Ellen. Dentist: “Do you still floss?” Ellen: “Yes, religiously....Once at Christmas, once at Easter.” (May not be exactly how it went but it’s the gist.) My dentist keeps reminding me to floss. However there are two things I hate about flossing. The first is that it often makes your gums bleed, which can then be uncomfortable and even cause your gums to swell up for a day. The second is that floss often gets stuck between teeth and shreds when you try to pull it out which can also be painful and result in you ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for teeth and gums

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I am quite good when it comes to oral hygiene, I like to brush my teeth regularly, I use mouthwash most days and in addition to that I also use dental floss. This was a habit I got into when I was younger thanks to my mum and I have never really grown out of it. In fact, regular flossing is said to reduce the incidence of heart disease as according to an article I read, flossing is correlated with greater longevity potentially as a result of the prevention of gum inflammation. It can also help to prevent gum disease, halitosis and dental cavities. So, there really is not reason not to floss as ... more

    Advantages Advantages lots

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none at all

Colgate Dental Floss is one of the more impressive denatl flosses I have ever used. It is in a small pastci waterproof container which you can stand up in your bathromm when not in use and it contains approximately 50m of waxed white dental floss which is neither too thin not too thick. This is probably one of the few dental flosses which I am able to get between my teeth without it snapping off in between or causing my gums to bleed in the process. It is lovely and minty smelling and as soon as you put it in between yu teeth and in your mouth you can taste the fresh mintiness it leaves behind ... more

Dear Ciao readers and female readers, I wish you a lot of pleasure while reading. Foreword: Earlier I know everything better was there the foreign exchange and why, actually, three times daily with circling movements? Why specialists should be also right ...:) With my 21 years I seem to know it meanwhile a little bit better. It is done to the obligation to clean the teeth so often become to itself as possible, because it is really unpleasant to smell out of the mouth and to me the feeling, actually, quite well likes a fresh breath to have. (I think this might you, promise to your friends or ... more

Advantages Advantages Gets between the closest teeth and doesn't shred

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I have very closely set teeth, many of which have had dental work on them. This has left a number of rough internal edges between teeth. Most flosses catch on the rough parts and tend to shred, particularly if I use the recommended method of sliding the floss up and down (from biting surface to gum and back), rather than the into and out of the mouth action (which I found didn't stop my gums bleeding at all). On one occasion, I had some of the shredded floss stuck and it couldn't be rmeoved by tooth picks, other floss, tape, etc. I then tried Colgate Dental Floss, which appears to be pure ... more
