Advantages Graphics, gameplay and variety.
Disadvantages Long load times before races.

I am an avid gamer who has been playing games since the days of early Atari consoles and have always enjoyed the thrill of the racing game. Colin McRae rally games have been around for sometime and are often thought of as simulation games. Tricky to drive, lots of fiddling about with settings etc just to be able to reach the end of the course. Advantages Best Graphics of any game, long career, many disciplines and vehicles.
Disadvantages Terrible handling, annoying pace-notes and menu commentary.

I've been a huge fan of the Colin McRae series (and the man himself) since it began almost 10 years ago in 1998, so i was salivating at the prospect of this game. Even though McRae has since retired from WRC in the real world, i guess the license is yet to, so it'll be interesting to see how many more games they push out under his name. So firstly the most pronounced aspect of this game is the graphics engine. I have muttered to my friends many times "best looking game out in any genre on any platform, Period." Advantages fun and fast exhilarating gameplay, Graphics are decent
Disadvantages Multi-player has more potential than you're given, loss of realism.

After being a fan of the Colin McRae games for a long while I was somewhat excited when I first heard about this game and after playing the demo I was more anxious to actually get the game. Gameplay This is you’re typical rally style racing game however what makes this one stand out from the crowd is the different types of races. In DiRT there are a few different types of races to go along with the traditional rally race, crossover, mountain climb and multi-car rally raid, just to name but a few. Colin Mcrae DIRT for the XBOX 360 Ok, the game - Good, but not brilliant. Its a rally driving game from the late Colin Mcrae, its a great game to play, with lots of things to do, and the graphics are phenominal, it has to be one of the best games for graphics available at the minute. Their is Career, championship and multiplayer modes, career is good fun, with a huge variety of courses and events available, however, it can be really repetetive, so its best to only play bits at a time. Advantages Great fun, long playability, exceptional graphics, adjustable difficulty and reasonable price :-)
Disadvantages Lack of music, can be slightly repetitive >:-(

WOW! This is by far the best game in the Colin Mcrae series and possibly the most realistic rally game in the world. Codemasters have gone to extreme lengths in creating the latest addition to the series, which includes 40+ vehicles of a great veriety, ranging from super buggys to the ever popular rally car the Subaru Impreza WRX. The career mode is so vast and has specific goals for you to aim for which increase the playability factor of the game, and also can make it very addictive. I personally think that this game has some of the best graphics I have ever seen on an Xbox 360 game. Therefore, its no wonder that it has become an Xbox Classic. Aside of the graphics is really realistic gameplay. When I say realistic, don't get me wrong, its not bad to play, its actually very good. Although the game does take a bit of getting used to (as I found out), once you've mastered it, its not as hard. The hardest part is trying not to crash, as if you want to go flat out you really need to pay attention and be pin point accurate with the turns. The career is the perfect length, not ... more

Colin Mcrae DIRT for the XBOX 360 Just gonna write a quick one for this. Ive played it a fair bit, and there are goo dpoints to the game, but also bad points. The graphics are the best i have seen for along time, with a nice feel to each of the maps, with great realism to the cars and still realistic when they are damaged. the career is lengthy, and fun, as is the championship mode. Bad points however, its quite repetetive throuigh out the game, so i wouldnt advise playing for long periods of time, and there is no offline mulitplayer, so you cant do split screen Its still quite expensive, but ... more

Advantages Great game, great features.
Disadvantages It can get a bit tedious if you cant complete a level.

I think the Colin Mcrae series are some of the best driving games out. Dirt 1 being the best for how much you get involved in the preparation of the car before an event, the way the cars handle and the driving behaviour of the cars. I think that dirt is a very playable game and even if your not into setting up cars and reading the stage information you can do it on the cars standard settings. so for playability and accesability i rate it 5/5.
