Armada 1750

Advantages: Built like a brick! Great Screen! AND THOSE SPEAKERS!
Disadvantages: Old and slow, but this is to be expected for this prehistoric beast.

I picked up this laptop for free after someone replaced it with a 5 year old used laptop. For a computer this old, it is an amazing little machine. The screen is as brilliantly lit as most of the best notebooks today, the build makes it feel like it was honed from a solid block of marble, the touchpad is easy to use, the processor could leave a lot to be desired, but even though this is running Windows XP, it's still fast enough to be a great internet ...
...the hard drive to a massive (for this laptop) 80GB! Then there's the speakers. I do not believe I have ever heard a better set of speakers on a notebook computer. Harman Kardon, Altec Lansing, anything that I've seen on a notebook pales in comparison to the beautiful set of horns adorning the front of this little black box. I love this laptop as if I bought it brand new (it is in perfect, immaculate condition) and I don't think this little beauty ...

Good Stuff basically

Advantages: Sturdy, Easy to use, Value
Disadvantages: Bulky, dated.

I've owned an Armada for three years and I haven't had any problems with it (I've dropped it once). Mine is a P2 366 mhz, with 64 mb ram, and 6 gigs hard-drive, floppy and cd rom drive. It runs on WINDOWS 95 which is getting out-dated now purely because alot of software and especially games are no longer compatible with it. That said, although it has glitches, some of the later versions even more so. The screen is really big, and that has always ...
...are removable and the memory is upgradeabe, the ac adaptor is very sturdy too. It's quite fast for it's genre, although a little cumbersome in comparison to the latest models. It's interface is very user-friendly, and I personally feel very comfortable using it. Mine has a 16 mb video card which came as standard (it's a 1750), and has coped with alot of complicated graphics very well. It has an infrared port in addition to all the other necessary ...

Not much wrong here

Advantages: Robust
Disadvantages: Chunky

My Compaq Armada 1700 came courtesy of the insurance company after my old Twinhead was stolen. The difference is phenomenal and I thank the thief! I might only have 32MB of Ram but for someone like myself who uses it for the odd letter, the updating of a few statistics and mainly surfing the web it seems plenty powerful enough. The only downside is that my CD Rom drive appears to have broken after a few months but it seems like just a loose connection. ...
