MY FAVOURITE PC

AdvantagesSleek Look, Very Good Spec, Easy to store,

DisadvantagesNot a games machine

"...eventually opted for a desktop Compaq EVO D510 with a Pentium 4 Processor, the cost of the base unit was scarcely believable at just £389. I also brought a 17 Inch monitor and an internal modem. The total cost was a bargain at just £608 Inc VAT. The basic specifications of the machine are outlined below. Memory- 256MB Hard Drive Size- 40 GB Processor- Pentium 4 2.4 Giga hertz CD Drive- 52X (Super Fast) Floppy Disc Drive Desktop (Monitor ..." Read review

Compaq D510 - solid corporate PC

AdvantagesFlexible, Robust, Easy to service

DisadvantagesNo USB ports on front

"As with many Compaq models you have the option of setting up your PC as a tower or dektop, and this Evo is one. In addition, you are also able to change the position of the CD/DVD & Floppy drives as required. So whether the case is standing on edge or lying on its side, the CD-ROM and DVD drives have their typical horizontal placement. HP also includes an extensive array of sophisticated manageability tools for system administrators, the Intelligent ..." Read review

Compaq Evo D510

AdvantagesSmall Form Factor but still space inside

DisadvantagesCabling can be tight

"We have 800 of these and so far they have been great. Reliability wise we have only had a few problems over the last 2 years where a couple of power supplies have popped. Do not be scared of the small form factor - these boxes can still hold extra stuff. We had quite tight requirements for the boxes we needed. Basically, we wanted to add an IDE Raid card, an extra hard disk, and 1GB or RAM. All of this was possible inside this tiny box. The floppy ..." Read review

compaq evo review

Advantagesprice , good processor and upgrade-able

Disadvantagesprobably will have to buy new hard drive and dvd drive in the long run

"I bought this pc as it is quite quite cheap. eventhough it does lack some features when bought, it is easily upgrade-able. This pc isn't just good for internet, word processing etc it is also good for games if fitted with a graphics card. this is what i do with it because i dont want to pay for an expensive gaming pc. This pc is just a basic pc which i would recommentt to anyone who wants to try upgrading a pc or someone who would rather buy a cheaper ..." Read review
