I am writing this review to inform the good people that good things in life can come cheap, my n600c is the best purchase of my life so far. As i got this laptop for about 80 pounds i decided to upgrade it with some more RAM at the moment im running an Intel Pentium III m and Microsoft XP with 767mb RAM. the total cost of this laptop with upgrades was 110 pounds, considering this has nearly 1GB of RAM it is perfect for browsing the web and is very ... ...fast and with the right browser and settings multi tasking is very good considering it has a singular core. The speed for the specs overall is good, the sound and video card are not spectacular but obviously can still play music and video at a basic level (youtube, itunes etc) it is great for going anywhere, its relatively small and quite light at about 1.3kg and the battery life is around 3 hours, i know mine has been changed before purchase though. ...

This item isnt available new, but is well worth a purchase second hand. As with all my reviews, items are used in the most demanding places around the world, they dont always survive, but this little baby has done me proud.
Without any replacement parts (Not even a battery!) it has survived in several continents and in extreme temperatures ... ...a hard wearing reliable laptop that can easily kick the rear end out of even the newest of models.
Its construction is fantastic, meaning that even when dropped, it usually survives! All bits and bobs can be pulled out and replaced with ease, i.e. the DVD can be removed, and replaced with a floppy, the Hard disk can be removed without removing the chasis etc etc.
With a simple cooling system (As in one way) cleaning the gunk out of the cooling ...

I have been using this laptop for the past 2 and half years and it is quite good serving my purpose. I use my laptop for my leisure time at home. I use it for downloading stuff from the internet and it is quite fast. I have a wireless card attached it to connect to the wireless network in my house. The speed is quite good. I use it basically for making Office presentations and writing word documents. I also use it for browsing and surfing. I am not ... ...during the evenings and during the weekends. I store my digital photos in this. Absence of firewire is a great problem with this laptop. It also does not have any portable external drives. So I cannot write my cds or dvds. I get my leisure work done on this laptop and also I hear to music and it has good high quality audio by downloading songs from the internet. Advantages: the sleak look Disadvantages: could do with a bigger hard drive
my wife has one of these and i use it quite often , this notebook has a sleak look for a low cost system especially as it has a p3 processor the body is a robust look as well as being tough , the keyboard functions are touch sensitive so theres no hard typing , the cd rom can be taken out and replaced with a floppydrive for easy access
this system is a good powerfull system ,i use it for studio recording so its ideal for me to use this as it is ...

Evo N600c has been my friend for the past one year and three months. I use it everyday as I work from home. I use it while travelling on train to my work place once in a while. It is lightweight and ideal for travel. It has good battery life. I have not personally faced any problems with this laptop except the fact that it generates a lot of heat.
It cost me £400 to get this laptop, which we got from a friend.
It weighs 2.5 kgs and it has a width ... ...in Black color. (Since I am used to a black Laptop, my next choice would be silver). It is quite elegant.
Basically being a web developer, I have to run a lot of softwares (dreamweaver, sql server, ) and I find it quite fast to use my system while using all these are running simultaneously. Rarely I get the Windows virtual memory problem when I run many software simultaneously. My laptop Specifications:

...i broke a cdr drive, compaq repalced under warrenty, no questions asked. much quieter than other models, battery still going strong. the built in wireless that comes in the lid is stuck on 11mb, so was prob a mistake to include, a pcmcia card would have been better. tons of other options available, all "in stock".
I guess we will just be repalcacing with an updated model. we hope HP have not spoiled it with thier badge :)
