Advantages Advantages very cheap full of competitions and helpful advice

Disadvantages Disadvantages You may develop a competition addiction

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having the door bell ring and seeing the postie with a huge parcel. Well there is something, but this is a family site and I don’t want Mrs B finding out about that feeling! OCH IT’S NO A SCOT’S FOOD OP CHRIS As my fellow Ciaoers probably know by now, I’m a bit of a competition addict and the King of the Loafers. I’m completely addicted to online competitions and wanted an offline resource of competitions because Mrs B was beginning to complain that she rarely sees me. I was also looking to update my how to win section at www.borntoloaf.co.uk ... more

Advantages Advantages Gives you a head start

Disadvantages Disadvantages better read from back to front

First of all, those of you that know me will know I’m a comper, (those that don’t, now you do). I enter online comps and almost anything that I fancy the look of. When I first started comping I used to buy every magazine that had the word WIN on the cover, as you can guess this cost a fortune so I started to look for ways of getting the details without the cost. That’s when I came across the following site http://pub110.ezboard.com/bbeawinnertoo A site run for Compers by Compers, There is the details of loads of comps and hints and tips, even an area to brag about what you’ve won. It’s worth ... more

Advantages Advantages You CAN win these prizes, no adverts, low cost for a years subscription

Disadvantages Disadvantages None - just a niggle... it could possibly come out a little earlier in the month to save on stamps!

Want a magazine that can DRASTICALLY increase your income? Or fancy a car for nothing more than the use of a few brain cells and a second class stamp? How about an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai to be waited on hand and foot by a personal butler? Well, what would you think if I said you could do all these things? Read on. I'm a comper. I enter competitions both on the internet and through the post with varying degrees of success. The buzz of the postman knocking the door in the morning with an unexpected parcel is just something else. My best wins so far have been £300 worth of clothes ... more

Advantages Advantages free, good layout, interesting

Disadvantages Disadvantages plain to look at

The Carry On Bit: (in other words the long winded tale of how I came to discover this product!) Oh the excitement! I got a big brown envelope through the letterbox yesterday morning. What could it be? Oh the Glee! It was the October edition of a publication called Compers News! Whilst perusing the Ciao home page, an offer was advertised for people to claim a free issue of Compers News. I duly entered my email address and waited as I am a cheapskate and anything offered for free I apply for. A few weeks later, I received an email telling me my Compers News was attached to the email - it wasn't ... more

Advantages Advantages lots and lots of competitions to enter by post

Disadvantages Disadvantages comes mid-month rather than the beginning

I discovered Compers News recently after details about it were posted on the competitions newsgroup uk.rec.competitions and I sent off for a complementary copy. I was so impressed that I immediately subscribed and have been receiving it for 3 months now. If you'd like a complementary copy go to www.compersnews.com and click on About Compers News and then Compers News the Magazine where information can be found on subscribing or getting a free copy. Subscription costs £39.96 for 1 year or £69.84 for 2 years but it can be cancelled at any time without providing any reason. This may seem a lot to ... more

Advantages Advantages may gleem that odd bit of info , but unlikely

Disadvantages Disadvantages too costly subscription , plus costs of entering the comps.

Compers News Go to the main page of Ciao , and you see a variety of offers available , one of such is for a free issue of Compers News . To receive you have to claim via clicking , for this offer . Do this , and a further confirmation is required in order to process your request. All very well and easy . Then just sit back and await your free issue..... But it don’t quite work that way , OH NO ! . A few weeks pass and a letter arrived detailing Compers News . This bumph tells you that your missing out on so many competitions , most Free Of Charge , and that Compers News scours the country for ... more

Advantages Advantages Loads of comps and tips!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Boring layout - but is that important?

My addiction began when I was just 16. It was the Summer Holidays, and I was desperate for something to do. Some teenagers hang around on street corners smoking and boozing. Not me: I stayed at home and it was there my addiction began... No, no, no - my addiction wasn't detrimental to my health (well, not really) and hasn't (yet) needed hospital treatment or anything like that. It began thanks to my PC, but it has since been taken to new levels. I just 'happened' to stumble across www.nme.com (I was really into the band the Stereophonics at that point, so I was probably reading an interview on ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, informative, complementary website

Disadvantages Disadvantages I don't have enough time!

I came across the Compers News web site one lucky day and have been hooked ever since. The web site is a friendly place where compers from all over the country meet up to discuss their wins, competitions and life in general. It is such a friendly and helpful site that I find myself missing everyone if I don't log in at least once a day. BUT the main point of it all is the newsletter. Now in my brief comping life I have subscribed to about five newsletters and they are all so so. Couple of pages of competitions once a month and an envelope full of other advertisments. Not Compers News though. I ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages only comes once a month

I am not a subscriber but I have read it a few times, I like the layout and I really enjoy Brita Bevis's articles. You might remember her? from Competitors World before she joined Compers News, her articles are very useful. It is full of comps, prize draws, Internet competitions and other competitions. It also has a letter page. The lady, who runs it is called Jane, I read sometime ago on her compers news forum that she has won over £250,000 worth of prizes in a very short period so she must know what she is talking about. I also read in her forum that he has recently won a wonderful prize ... more
