    Disadvantages Disadvantages workmanship, time, not trustworthy, aftersales, support, cheap but costs your more in long run.

    Computer Planet Well what can I say. I would rather pay the £1400 I paid them to a bunch of chimps next time to build my pc. Bought pc on 6th June. After alot of failed motherboards and HDD I contacted them and was told the motherboard ( ASUS M3A32-MVP DELUXE/WIFI and Thermaltake 1000w )and power supply will not work together. Fun as thier pre build ati amd 790FX crossfire machine has them. I contacted 5 other retailers and computer reviewers and was told that was utter rubbish. Plain and simple CP lied to me.     I never write a review for something that I buy but I will make an exception in this case I was looking for a desktop to connect to my 72" flat-screen tv. I'm an electronics junkie and didn't want anything pre-packaged from a big box store. A fair amount of research led me to choose http://www.computerplanet.co.uk/ to build my custom computer.     Ordered a new PC with computerplanet on 18th Feb 08. The website was well laid-out, informative, and most importantly easy to track spending with their relatively unique price bar that lets you know what your spending. I got a couple of quotes, then paid for the one i wanted with mastercard. The money was taken out of my account straight away (bit worrying!) and a confirmation email was sent. After 3 days I was informed that my PC was at 'parts picked' stage. Great I thought, It'll be here for next Saturday!     Computer Planet Sucks. I ordered a machine to my design confident that choosing professionals to build it was worth the extra, since checking parts and returns are time consuming. After about a month I took delivery expectant of an excellent build and upon first examination looked good, apart from an inadequate cooler fitted despite my original instructions to not vary the order without consent, but I thought they must know better.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Customer services leaves a bit to be desired.

    Site is very well laid out and very easy to use. The interface utilised to help you build your own system is the best i've seen around, and the constant updates on the various processes your system is going through is extremely helpful. There were one or two issues along the way but I guess this is to be expected with a custom-built PC. Only problem I had was the lack of depth and time it took for customer services to respond to questions/emails.     I' d read some mixed reviews about Computer Planet's service and after much tooing and froing, I decided to go for it. I was building an expensive machine, just shy of £3000 so I didn't want any hassle. I emailed them a few times before committing to it to get a feel for them and they came across as very dedicated, professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Tom was especially helpful and quick at replying.     Let me start of by saying that Computer planet has great pc part up for offer and a really good website. But that is where the good stops. I have spent over a £1700 on a cusom pc from them and regret it up to this day. They seem really great and helpfull a they agree to every request I made....but the fact is they never followed through on mos of their promises. The good reviews you read online is the ones who bought a pre-built pc and received it in working order. The problem with CP comes when something is wrong and they need to fix it.     Computer Planet is another one of those online shops allowing customers to build their own computers. I always liked ordering from those sites since I always have control over the specifications and the price. The site was very helpful and precise, listing the prices together with the specs. It can be quite a lot though, for people who are not really well versed when it comes to computer parts and assembling.     When I started looking to purchase my 2nd pc,I decided I would rather build to order,the pc of my choice,rather than just get a deal so I looked at many,alienware was hot,and got hot on price too,my privious pc was a tiny,and was hot at the time,but was a pakage deal,that was ok,but I didn't want to pay for all sorts of things I was never going to use so I found these guys!     Well, when people are saying about giving 1 star, then i dont know where they are coming from! I had a couple of problems to my build, but Andy was always there to give it a helping hand, and for the wait i even got sent a load of freebies, that were actualy very useful. I would recommend, and have done, Computer Planet to anyone thinking about buying a new pc. Yes Dell and so on may give you everything, but if you want gaming there rubbish.
