Advantages: 3rd person shooter, ammo conservation, requires tactics, switch players Disadvantages: 3 saves per level
I'd forgotten how fun Conflict Desert Storm really was, looking for a decent slice of action I picked the sequel. You can play as 2 sides now the British SAS or US Delta Force both still follow the same mission patterens which was a slight setback because at first I thought I had two games ! The game is more of last time still being a 3rd person squad based shooter with tactics and strategy also playing a vital part.
Back in Iraqi desert you control ... ...mates has a various skill. Your men are Bradley the all rounder good with all guns, Conners is in control of the heavy weaponary, Foley is skilled with the sniper rifle and Jones is skilled at close quarters and dead handy with the knife. All team members carry a main weapon like an AK-47 and various other helpful things such as grenades.
The controls are quite a handful but once mastered you'll be able to blow the enemy to oblivion. Your team members ...

Advantages: Tactically incredible. Takes the former one and throws it out the window Disadvantages: Not much difference between the first one and this one accept the missions
Yes, yet another one. It trust me it is dimensions better than the first one by a long shot. They have dived deeper into the world of war and how modern day special forces work under pressure and under fire- a cool sweet games that is easy to understand but incredibly difficult to master.
It is still set during the First Gulf War (The legal one!). It is set just after the Iraqi invasion of the neutral country of Kuwait and the SAS/Delta Force (Whichever ... ...disturb the enemy until allied UN forces arrive from the USA and the UK.
Enough of the same storyline as the last one lets look into the game play a bit. The controls are relatively the same with a few tweaks here and there. Nothing truly major, squad positioning has been greatly enhanced by using the circle button and then pressing various button so that the man you are sending out will either march, run, crawl, walk cautiously to their destination ...

Advantages: It's brill, and you'll know the format/controls from the first one. Disadvantages: No bonuses, no endgame sequence to speak of, too long to wait until the next one.
Yes, it’s true. No sooner had Bradley, the leader of my SAS team-of-four, escaped from his cell in an Iraqi POW camp after it was hit by a laser-guided bomb dropped from an allied stealth bomber, he managed to get stuck in a dimly lit pile of cardboard boxes behind a secluded shed. Mind you, while the standard issue for said team of four includes primary and secondary weapons (machine gun or telescopic rifle, plus handgun or shotgun for close-quarters-battle), ... ...and phosphorus), and half-a-dozen medipacks amongst others, there’s no mention of a tool to make sure you shoelaces aren't tied together, or a box navigator. Anyway, when needed, you’ll also be let loose with a laser designator to call in air strikes from gunships, LAW anti-tank hand-held missile launchers, or C4 with a remote control detonator. I’m hoping the latter might be in the shops soon, what with Guy Fawkes’ Night just around the corner. ...

...the release of the original Conflict: Desert Storm the other year, it was like music to my ears when I heard that CDSII was going to be released. They said that the minor flaws were to be fixed and that it would be a whole lot better and how right they were.
t's simple: You are either a four man SAS or Delta Force squad out in the desert's of Iraq. You are tasked to blow things up, infiltrate heavily defended installations and defend installations ... ...this is a squad based action game with many new additions! These new additions include rolling while lying down, phosphurus grenades, the all new flare gun and Claymore mines. The CO-OP mode its still there, adding to the replay value when you do the game with your friend.
Graphics are better, smarter, everything you expect for a sequel. The environments are nicer and more detailed, and the sun and searchlights actually have an effect on your aiming ...

Advantages: Excellent strategic game. Command your squad and live to learn by your mistakes. Disadvantages: Undetermined sights. Enemy troops tend to be a little suicidal and definately stupid
Owned Desert Storm and bought this sequel as soon as it hit the shelves. Basically the game continues where Desert Storm left off as far as the story line is concerned.
I cannot recommend this game enough. If you're an ex service man that has seen action you'll appreciate the sense of achivement that this game gives you although the buzz isn't quite the same! In command of three other specialists on missions within the deserts and urban sites within ... ...control of them physically. However sometimes its better to let them get on with it as they react to situations with the best possible form. Graphically the game ranks with M.O.H. When an RPG flies past your head it really does feel like its just flown past your head. However I found that running off to save one of my oppo's in the midst of a full on fire fight was not recommended as I tended to find that, as in reality, getting hit by an RPG seriously ...

Advantages: Nice realism... Disadvantages: A few annoying glitches...
I am playing this game with my brother at the moment, and it really is a good game. We've been playing it solid on multiplayer for about 4 days now and its true that it is very addictive!
The realism to this game is great, it tracks the iraqi invasion of kuwait well and all of the missions are detailed and similar to actual events of the first iraqi war. Between missions there are even brief paragraphs outlining your position in the conflict. A ... ...as either the Delta force ( US special forces), or the obviously better SAS! I have always chosen the SAS mainly through pride.
Whats good about this game is that the realism gives you a sense of patriotism about the whole mission, and together with the fact that orders given by your team are accompianied with the correct hand signals the army use in real life, makes the experience much better. There are so many weapons available in this game aswell, ...

Advantages: addictive and excellent playability Disadvantages: quite politically incorrect.
I bought this game after it was recommended to me by a friend. It is probably the best money i have spent on a ps2 game yet.
Take control of Bradley, Foley, Connors and Jones. These are the members of the elite SAS unit you control as you fight to free Iraq from tyranny. Each member has his own weapons and skills. Bradley the leader, Foley the sniper, Connors with his big ass gun and Jones the demolition expert.
The various missions bring up different ... ...them on your own or ask the team to follow, interact between your team asking them to follow you or hold position, you can also give the order for them to fire at will, so if somebody is coming up behind you they will cover your back.
The game is unbelievably addictive. The first two days i had it i never stopped playing it. The only reason i stopped was because i had to go to work. The graphics are excellent and the controls are easy to use. The ...

Advantages: Good controls, graphics, long missions Disadvantages: not much but hard level too difficult
This has got to be one of my favourite games even though I have completed it twice I still play the game. Conflict desert storm can be a very addictive game with about 10 long missions.
The scenery in the game is amazing as it looks exactly like Iraq during the war. I found this game very hard at first because you can't just go up to everyone and shoot them. This game is all about tactics as you control four players in the game and you have to position ... ...and I find it quite challenging but the hard level is just too hard for me. It's a very good game and you have to use your brain and think of tactical plans on how to kill the enemy, how to blow up the tanks or how to sneak past enemies and tanks.
The graphics were very good as they showed damages to nearly every building in the city and the game looks very realistic.
The controls are very good, I have played a lot of shooting games and controls ...

Advantages: not having to really get killed Disadvantages: one man dies, they all die.
Connors (Tank Killer), Heavy weapons expert, loves to use the bazooka and anti tank weaponry.
Cool hand Bradley (a man with a mission) Officer in charge, motto if it breathes it bleeds, if it bleeds it dies.
Bomb Disposal Expert Jones, also great at spotting and defusing land mines, comes into his own when de-fusing the oil refinery time bombs and scud missile warheads.
And last but not least, Sharp Shooter Foley, excellent for sneak attacks and ... ...dogs back from 500 metres.
The boys are back and ready for more Gulf War Based action,
Why do we need to send armies into battle with these 4 killing machines.
Great action, with realistic effects, whatever is in those healing first aid kits ought to be supplied to all our boys, they're great.
Much better graphics and weaponry than the original first Desert Storm, these boys must be ultra fit to carry the amount of armoury they lug around. Easy ...
