"...why, and how, could God judge God's own creation and call it bad? If I wanted you to be and do everything perfectly, I would have left you in the state of total perfection whence you came. The whole point of the process was for you to discover yourself, create your Self, as you truly are - and as you truly wish to be." (pg 42, Hodder & Stoughton, 1995)
If you believe the blurb on this book when you pick it up from the bookshelf, you are holding ... ...was actually true.
To give you an idea of my background, I am a 24 year old Irish girl, brought up in a country with 90%+ Catholicism, 2 devout parents and all that goes with that. I do believe there is a god, but have never felt comfortable with the Christian God who suggests, from what I've read in the Bible, to have the idea that the only way to enter into heaven is to be devout to an impossible degree. Oh, and I've never liked the idea that ...

Advantages: Life changing book Disadvantages: None
This book is written around what happened to the author, Neale Donald Walsh, in the spring of 1992. At the time he was suffering from bad health, had been sacked from his work place and his relationships were bad. He wrote an angry letter to God, asking why his life didn't work. Before he had finished the questions, he started receiving answers, and began a " Conversation with God.
The topics ranged widely, and the author discovered that God believed ... ...do with heaven and hell, as we have been brought up to believe. He also found God to have an amazing sense of humor. The theme running all the way through the book demonstrates that our lives don't work simply because we are not listening to what God tells us, as a result we are not able to receive what we want. We are told that our life purpose is to be, or rather experience, "Who we are" Communication from God is always your when you have your ...

Advantages: The most accessible 'religion' in print. Disadvantages: Not left in hotel rooms enough
‘Conversations With God’ is an extraordinary phenomenon. It’s one of those books that people buy for other people, then those people buy it as a gift for other people. I don’t know how many copies I’ve given.
I can tell you that I, and many friends, have found these magical books the most direct, clear, accessible and easy account I’ve ever read.
There are 3 primary books in the original series, with sequels ... ...is that the author, Neale, was at the lowest ebb of his life and decided he would write a letter of complaint to the person in charge, to the management, in other words… to GOD. When he finished his complaining, he was aware of words coming to him that he proceeded to write down. The words grew into a conversation between Neale and God: questions, rebukes, revelations, wisdom, jokes… The text of these conversations, which took place over ...

Advantages: enlight you about life and its meaning Disadvantages: sometimes a bit hard to assimilate, and repetitive
Right. I need to explain a bit about myself first:
I am not a religion fan at all. I am interested in life after death and this kind of stuff, however, my position about God is a bit blurry. I belive in a force or something (I don't know how to explain), but I am definately anti religion. I don't like the idea of it.
This book is not blasphematory in my opinion, but it gives an interesting approach about God and life.
As I don't know what to believe ... ...which seemed to be different. It is a lot less boring than the Bible, and it is a lot less hard to understand (in my opinion nobody understood the holy Book).
Basically, the author was going through a hard period in his life: crap love life, crap job, crap everything.
So one day he just wrote a letter to God to releave his anger, his fears and his concerns. What he didn't expected was a reply. Indeed, the pen continue to write after he was finished, ...

Advantages: Provokes thought, encourges a better way of life, moral guidance. Disadvantages: There are no disadvantages of this book....
...that's an added bonus, but Conversations with God contains food for thought, for anyone.
Without doubt, this is the most thought provoking book I have ever read, possibly, the most thought provoking book in existence. The logic is difficult to argue with even when putting out some extremely radical ideas. ...

Advantages: Inspirational, uplifting, thought provoking Disadvantages: none
Very interesting and inspirational book I would recommend it to everyone however not everyone might be ready for this book. This book makes you think hard about life and everything in between. It's bascially about a conversation between the author and an energy or 'god'. The author ask's questions to god when he is lost and in need of help.. he gets an answer. This book totally changed my life and changed my perspective on the world and why things ...

...The conversations are continued in "Conversations with God" 2 and 3. They cover more universal truths, are more complicated and require brave and open minded readers as what's presented in them cannot be easily absorbed and needs to be digested. Extremely inspirational, thought provoking, controversial and life - changing read. ...
