** WHAT IS IT **
Listerine is the number one selling mouthwash in the UK. It’s made by Pfizer, a huge American conglomerate specializing in health care products. Listerine claim that if we use their mouthwash twice a day it will kill the bacteria that build up in our mouths and provide us with all day long protection against plaque build up, gingivitis (gum disease) and bad breath. ... ...& AVAILABILITY **
My preferred Listerine mouthwash is the Coolmint flavour. It retails at £1.80 for 250ml or £2.61 for 500ml and it’s sold in all major supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsburys etc;) as well as chemists such as Boots and Superdrug. Listerine Coolmint is a rather lurid blue /turquoise coloured liquid.

I chose Listerine because it came with a recommendation and it was also a name that I had heard of and believed that I could trust. I even remember the TV adverts for this product that featured Clifford, the rather camp Dragon. Listerine comes in a variety of different flavours. I use the Coolmint variety and pay around £2.50 for a 500ml bottle. It is recommended that the product is used twice a day, once in the morning after you ... ...been clinically proven that using Listerine mouthwash reduces the build up of plaque by 56% more than by brushing alone.
It is only necessary to use a very tiny amount of the product each time, the recommended amount is 20ml and the cap of the bottle comes with a handy gauge on it should you wish to measure out this exact amount. The mouthwash itself is a turquoise- blue/green liquid.

Listerine Mouthwash.
Well after using several ‘cheaper’ brands of mouthwash I felt they did very little apart from make my mouth smell like ‘minty poo’ I decided it was about time to stop being a skinflint and spend the extra few pence on some ‘real’ mouthwash.
Browsing the supermarket shelves I noticed a massive variety of mouthwashes, but none caught my eye as much as the impressive line-up of different flavors of Listerine.

Advantages: Powerful, effective, and (to me) pleasant-tasting. Has other great uses, too. Disadvantages: Some people don't like the taste.
...remember way back to when Listerine just came in one color: dark pee.
And one flavor: Look, Ma! I have a firecracker in my mouth!!!
And it still comes in the traditional dark pee color with the traditional firecracker-in-your-mouth taste.
But it also comes in other colors, too and now has a minty-firecracker-in-your-mouth taste!
Listerine--basic or enhanced--isn't for everybody, due to its overbearing strength.
However, I've never had a problem ... ...like a million dollars!!!
Listerine is also a great gargle. Sometimes, I gargle it straight. Othertimes, I add water to the mix. I seldom gargle unless I'm trying to soothe a sore or raspy throat. Or else just in the mood to make silly sounds and feel that tingling clear to the back of my mouth.
But there are other uses for this powerful fluid as well, and I'm going to go into some very personal ones.

Coolmint Listerine is an antiseptic mouth wash that claims to kill germs and prevent dental plaque and bad breath. It is sold in three different size bottles, 150ml, 250ml and 500ml. Im not sure how much the 150ml bottle retails for but the 250ml bottle is £2:14, whilst the 500ml one is £2:83.This is quite good value for money and there are a lot of mouthwashes on the market that are a lot more expenisve and a lot less effective.
The packaging for ... ...One of the things that Listerine like to make clear is that this mouth was is approved by the BDA (British Dental Association) and this is on a big red sticker at the top. The rest of the labels provide basic information about the product (such as it being antiseptic) and directions on how to use it (rinse around teeth and gums, than gargle)

Listerine is a good mouthwash to use, it’s made by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and come’s in two different flavours.Original and Coolmint. I prefer the coolmint which is a light blue colour and smells and tastes of spearmint. The Original one’s are a sort of light yellow colour.
It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a black twist off lid and will cost you around two pounds in Safeways, but I have bought it cheaper for 1.40 ... ...sells out quickly in them.
Listerine is accredited by the British Dental Association, the bottles are 500ml and the lid is childproof, you have to squeeze the sides of it, then twist before it opens.
If you use this twice a day it will help to reduce plaque and freshen your breath as it kills the bacteria in your mouth, this helps to keep your gums healthy. The best time to use it is in the mornings and evenings, but I use it if I’m going out as ...

...says what it is (Coolmint Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash!) and what it does ("Kills the germs that cause dental plaque and bad breath") plus another label in even bigger writing ("Kills plaque bacteria, a major cause of gum disease") They certainly want to let you know what it does, as it re-iterates these points on the back of the bottle as well!
The directions instruct you to use it twice a day, after brushing, and to use 20 ml (4 teaspoons) at ... ...your teeth and gums and then gargle with it, before spitting it out after 30 seconds. Sounds pretty straightforward? Well, no actually!
Firstly, I found that 20 ml was too much - my mouth felt completely full up (bulging hamster cheeks and everything!) and I could hardly rinse the mouthwash around as it felt like it was going to spray out everywhere! Secondly, I couldn't keep it in my mouth for the full 30 seconds - and this is where the paint stripper ...
