Bright house is a shop which people can get goods on credit without any credit checks. What they do is ask you for ID and 4 references which can confirm you are who you say you are, live where you say and that can confirm that you are trustworthy. I went there a week ago in desperation for a washing machine. I'm a single mother of 2 young children. We have used Britehouse as its called now because we could buy instead of renting - yes they cost an arm and a leg and now thankfully we can save and buy most things straight off but for about 10 years we did buy our household goods from them. We read all the info before hand so we knew we were paying an arm and a leg for everything but to us it was worth it - we got the items straight away ( never waited longer than a week for anything to be delivered. ...
...in Oct this year 2008 and we should be able to buy things from elsewhere after that. Our credit rating was bad due to hubby being first unemployed then a taxi driver so no reg take home pay and we paid everything cash. Yes its a shock to those who don't read or ask about all the terms when they take on something - but the amount is there on the contract - the total amount, not including service cover. I went to my local crazy georges when i moved into my new home, I purchased a new washer and cooker. I loved the products and because I like them so much the price did not seem that bad. Firstly the products did not arrive when they were meant to, apparantly the courier fell of the back of the van and hurt himself. We did get a free week because of this. i was taken in by crazy georges. there low weekly payment plan was very attractive. i purchursed a home entertainment system it was around 395 pound that was a year ago my weekly payments were 6.97 a week and when i enqiured how long i had to pay on it i was told another 102 weeks.all in all to cut a long story short the dvd player will cost me over 1000 pound and it isnt really worth what i have already paid off for it. which is nearly 400 pound. ...
