4 Stars PROFOUND SURROUND SOUND Review with images 08/12/2005
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Amazing surround sound for the money, Simple setup, Nice looking

Disadvantages Disadvantages The remote control is wired rather than fully remote, the subwoofer is very heavy

Time was when the sum total of a computers sound output was a couple of chirrups and a beep! Not anymore. Nowadays the computer has replaced the television as the integral piece of multimedia equipment in many households, with television, DVD and music playback no more than a mouse click away. Of course you have to have the equipment to do justice to these multimedia experiences, a minute CTR monitor and tin-pot speaker setup will offer a rather unsatisfactory result, which is why I found myself looking into a surround sound speaker setup for my computer. After dismissing a 7.1 setup (not ... more

Advantages Advantages Advantages Cheaper then others of the same quality.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Disadvantages Cables could be longer.

I purchased my Creative Inspire PC multimedia speaker system a few years ago, A friend of mine already owned this set and I knew from experience they were good all-round for listening to music, movies and for playing games, And after a lot of searching and comparing price and performance I eventually settled for the same set my friend had. This is a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and so consists of 5 satellite speakers and 1 subwoofer speaker, they come in all black and are a simple and clean cut cubic design with the 5 satellite speakers having detachable mesh grilles, All of the speakers ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick setup, Clear sound quality, Remote control

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Short cable length

The Creative Inspire P5800 system is Creative's solution to their competitor's modern home entertainment range of products and whereas there are certainly more benefits than inconveniences to this system, there are just a couple of things that should be noted. Packing The 5.1 speaker system is shipped in a rather non-descript box with one section for the 5 satellite speakers (black) and another for the subwoofer. Cables that allow you to connect the speakers to the subwoofer are attached permenantly to the speakers, however fortunately the subwoofer is stand-alone. The cable length for the ... more

    4 Stars My speakers 11/03/2007

    Advantages Advantages 5 speakers, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages sound quality isn't all that great

I got these speakers for my dell computer (have a look at that review as well if you have time please) over a year ago now and I still have them hooked up and working really well. It is a 5.1 set of speakers meaning there a five satellites and a bass speaker. This means it has more of a surround sound feel but I really don't get that sense of feeling very well from this set of speakers so if it is a set of speakers with a good sense of surround sound it's not worth getting these ones in my point of view. BASICS This speaker system is pretty basic nothing really fancy going on with them. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Pleasant sound for money, subtle styling, 5.1

Disadvantages Disadvantages No mic input on remote, no individual control of speakers

I recently bought these speakers to replace my 4.1s that I have owned for a number of years now. The front speakers on my old set were suffering from the abuse they have received, and I felt it was time to upgrade a little. When the box arrived, it was the size I expected for a 5.1 speaker set, although it was a plain cardboard box. This would appear to be OEM packaging, but it served the purpose well. A tray housed the 5 satelite speakers, and the sub had it's own polystyrene compartment. In addition to the speakers, you get the wired remote, and audio cable for connecting to your sound card ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing value for money, true surround sound, Creative have good drivers/support

Disadvantages Disadvantages Volume control a bit 'flimsy', there is much better quality out there, wiring up isent fun

Ive had these speakers since just before buying my X-fi Music a few months ago, and they have been great! For the money they are very good quality, the best by far for the price. They make films and music sound great and can go louder then you could possibly want, with plenty of bass also. They support EAX and are very good for gaming due to being surround sound, they will immerse you as much as is possible in a game and make the experiance much greater. The speakers have a fairly nice look about them with the see-thru fronts to protect the speaker itself and the Creative badge along the ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Creative Inspire P5800 PC multimedia home theatre speaker system by Patmoore 07/07/2008
I`m a musician and so I look for high quality sound reproduction. Often during mixdown, I don`t even switch to my reference monitors because these little beauties give excellent clarity of sound with a great bass response and, for the price, you won`t find a better way of turning your system into an excellent cinema/nightclub/media centre/gaming station. I recommend use with the Audigy Soundblaster 4 sound card - also reasonably priced. One negative thing.... good luck finding stands for them! I`m still searching a couple of years on and am quite prepared to beg you to reveal the location if you`ve ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great Bass

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too sensative

I got these a while ago for my AC97 card, and I loved them. The bass is stunning, when you crank it you can feel it thought the floor. One thing i found that was different from the T5900 was they had little 'tweaters' for the trebble, which is very handy if listening to trance etc. When using them, i find the bass to heavy and the controller that came with it is very sensative so it makes it hard to get it right. Though i must say i was able to play with that once i got my X-FI wich made a huge differacnce. I got an OEM version so i am not aware of any kind of bundle. Setting them up was fun ... more

    Advantages Advantages Value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could have a greater variety of inputs

I wasn't expecting much when I bought these speakers to go with my new pc, however I was very surprised. The speakers appear to the well made and the sound quality is very good. There is no distortion up to a very respectable volume. Set up is very easy, just plug each cable into the sub and then the sub into your pc, all sockets are labeled. There is an auxiliary input in the form of a 3.5mm audio jack, both the main input and axillary can be used at once. Volume and bass control are provided on the control box which also gives a headset out. The cable on the remote could ideally be longer ... more
