Advantages Advantages Perfect skin, what more can I say!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too heavy for day - I really struggled to think of a disadvantage!

I am a self-confessed product junkie... and this is what self-confessed product junkies do - we go and spend £135 on a 60ml jar of facial moisturising crème. But as I am qualified as a beauty therapist you could say I'm doing this for the good of the people, they need an opinion from someone they can trust. And now I'm writing reviews on Ciao, well, that just means I'm helping even more people… That's my excuse anyway. I had read magazine article after magazine article about this little gem of a product for at least a year before I actually bought it. So nobody can accuse me of impulse-buying ... more

Advantages Advantages You see results quickly

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I had heard about crème de la mer in the press & looked at the price & thought how ridiculously overpriced. Even though I was intrigued I thought there's no way I can justify spending that much. However things were about to change - fast forward to 3 years later & I have had the worst skin problems with spots & scarring - they seemed never ending & I was beginning to get fed up of always having horrible skin. Then one day complaining to a friend she recommended using crème de la mer. She has been using it for about 5 years & has the most amazing skin - so off I went to Selfridges & got the ... more

Advantages Advantages This 'designer' cream will turn your bathroom shelf into a shrine.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Your bank manager will none too pleased.

I have read nothing but rave reviews about Creme de la Mer, an A-list moisturiser with an A-list price tag attached. Magazines are forever gushing about this product, associating words such as 'miracle' and 'extraordinary' to it so naturally curiosity got the better of me. Now although I can be somewhat of a beauty product victim and quite impulsive, even I know that forking out around eighty-eight quid for an itsy tub (30ml!) of this wonder is just plain ridiculous. So I sought to foreign lands, the U S of A to be precise, with hope that I could purchase the product for a fraction of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Does seem to leave your skin feeling very soft - revised, please see extra comments below

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very expensive, seems difficult to get hold of, can be greasy on the skin

On a recent visit to London, I decided to take a visit to Harrods. Once in the cosmetics and beauty dept, I was drawn to the Creme De La Mer counter and before you could say ' I wonder if I have done the right thing by paying £75 for a small 30ml jar of cream' I found myself the dubiously proud owner of the so called miracle product. The hype (as per the brochure and newspaper reports). Creme De La Mer was invented by an aerospace physicist, Dr. Max Huber who after being horrifically burned after a routine experiment exploded in his face, began looking for a cream to help dimish his scars ... more

Advantages Advantages Heals new acne scars fast and makes everything smooth and silky the next day

    Disadvantages Disadvantages TOO expensive

Let me start by describing my skin so maybe you can compare your skintype to mine. I have fairly normal skin, with some tendency to oiliness around the nose (I live in the tropics and the humidity here is scary.) But sometimes, my skin might get a little dry AROUND THE NOSE too. Probably because of air-conditioning. But the thing to note is- I USED to have skin on the oily side. Which was supposed to be incompatible with the rich creme. However, I've been using it for almost 3 months now, and I can SWEAR my skin is behaving better. When it DOES break out, it's not too serious and is usually a ... more

Advantages Advantages Many; skin is smoother, less lined, transformed.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost, and isn't available in all areas.

The Introduction: I was introduced to Creme de la Mer a few years ago when working in the industry. However, it always seemed a little expensive and I didn't really see the need to use such expensive products on my relatively young skin. However, a year ago I was glassed in the face, which has obviously left a large, noticeable scar. I knew that Creme had been recommended to use on injuries so I thought that this was the right time to buy and try. I started using The Concentrate twice a day on the injured area and the Moisturising Creme twice a day all over my face and neck. The Results: Well ... more

Advantages Advantages only that it smells nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages blocked pores, too expensive

I originally bought this cream 6 months ago admittedly because I read in a magazine that celebrities raved about it! I had just entered my thirties so thought I should do something to keep the dreaded wrinkles at bay. My skin is basically combination with dry cheeks and an oily t-zone. The cream was designed by a NASA scientist called Max Huber who fermented all kinds of algae-type products to make a cream that actually got rid of burns on his face- the cream is now marketed by a big cosmetics giant using his formula. The cream has the following drawbacks 1) Hideously expensive at £75 for the ... more

    Advantages Advantages it's quite nice

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the price

This has been hyped as one of the best face creams in the world, and it's certainly one of the most expensive. So curiosity got the better of me and when it became available in the UK recently I tried it. I was not impressed, especially at the price. What's special about this is an extract that's apparently made from fermented seaweed. Sounds vile but the cream is quite nice. Well, I used it and nothing much happened. It was probably a bit rich for my skin and it did seem to help soothe a couple of irritated areas, but that was about it. Perhaps I shouldn't have been expecting more, but I can ... more

Advantages Advantages It comes in a nice green box

Disadvantages Disadvantages Didn't live up to the hype

I wanted this 'miracle cream' for such a long time. I certainly didn't need any persuassion from the over enthusiastic smooth faced sales girl in Harvey Nicks, my mind was already made up. I'd been propelled there that day on a sea of guilt. I was about to spend £135.00 on a jar of face cream but I was having it come hell or highwater. I'd already done all the research and read the obligatory reviews, some full of praise affirming 'the miracle', others denouncing it completely. Honestly, neither of which had any bearing on my decision to go out and buy it. No, the thing that made me buy this ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice smell, maybe it will make your skin perfect

Disadvantages Disadvantages too expensive, did nothing for me

I was so excited when I first got this because I thought that this was the answer to my prayers! I thought that it was a bit pricey but cheaper than surgery to get rid of my acne scars! That's what I thought, but I was disappointed with it IMMENSELY!! My skin is basically normal, young skin with an oily t-zone in summer and annoying acne scars on my cheeks. It took me quite a while to work up the courage to get this, but I finally did and it was rubbish! For a start, the packaging is so boring! A white (and tiny) jar, that's heavy to give the illusion of a lot of product, but there's really ... more
