...hamster. Then, there was the Crittertrail X. Purple and green, with a little green slide like feature, a wheel which moves around a track at the top and a little pull out box to keep the hamster in (which i used to put her in whilst cleaning her cage). I opted for the Crittertrail X- the perfect pink palace was £50 and the Crittertrail X was more reasonably priced at only £25. When I got it home it took a while to assemble, it was difficult to find ... ...to follow.
Other then that, my hamster loved her new home. It made a refreshing change from the scratty yellow cage she had been living in for the past 2 weeks. When I put her in she began storing all the bedding and sawdust- I think she thought it was just a little luxury and then she'd be shipped back off to her old cage with some more bedding stashed in her pouches.

...but we decided on the Crittertrail X. Dwarf hamsters are very energetic and we thought all the add ons that are available with Crittertail would make a great playground for them.
I thought the cage was great value for money. It comes complete with a food dish, water bottle, petting zone and a slide that leads to an external exercise wheel. And better still….it was easy to put together. The first thing I noticed was how much fun my little hammies ... ...slide. The wheel also rotates whilst they run, so they get to change their view as they run. Unfortunately my little ones decided to use the wheel as a bed as well as for exercise. They dragged most of their bedding up there and then wanted to run. So all the bedding was going round and round with them…..and some of it falling out of the ventilation holes. Hench I ended up with bits of bedding all over the floor!! Luckily for me there are other wheels ...

After giving up on our old hamster cage as it had pritty much bit the dust me and the girls started looking around for a new cage to house our family of mice, my daughters fell in love with this dazzle critter cage as soon as they spotted it, there was no reasoning with them it was going to have to be this cage.
Firstly let me say that critter make lots of different designs of cages not just the one we have brought and they make them in a wide range ... ...for every one.
Our cage is the super pet critter dazzle hamster cage although it has mice in it in our house. It has a very high base which i am especially pleased with as this means when my family of mice start tearing around there cage like looneys the saw dust stays in the cage and not all over my sides. Above this high base you have wire bars which are realy close together and my mice cant fit through the gaps like they used to on the old cage ...

...to purchase a couple of CritterTrail cages for him and interconnect them.
One of the cages that are connected is the CritterTrail X (other is the space station looking one) and they appear (for now) to have stopped Hammonds boredom and given him a new play area to explore.
The cage at first was difficult to assemble as the instructions were poor and it did feel rather flimsy but after it was all assembled it felt ok.

Is your hamster the type of pet that likes to have fun? Then crittertrail is the cage for you! With fun wheels, pipes and other funky accessories, your hamster will be lovin' it! The cage is also great for you as you can watch he hamsters amuse themselves, plus it's easy to clean so less smells! Definitely recommended. ...
