Advantages Advantages Wide range, nice site, delivers on time(just)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey p&p for small orders, misleading images

Over the past few years I've become quite a keen gardener, experimenting with different plants and flowers as well as trying my hand at fruit and vegetable growing. It's been a very rewarding hobby and I always get a real buzz when I get to serve my own tomatoes with a salad for lunch or receive a compliment on my front garden displays. I stumbled upon Crocus.co.uk pretty much by accident, you see I'm a member of Lightspeed Research which is a survey website where you build up points and exchange them for vouchers etc… I'd built up a nice little amount of points and decided to see what rewards ... more

    Advantages Advantages Comprehensive, Beautiful, Informative

Disadvantages Disadvantages You'll want to shop til you drop

Gardening has never appealed to me. It was something I swore I’d never do. In fact, when I bought a house a few months ago, I deliberately bought one without that pesky patch of grass surrounded by what I believed were called ‘borders’. However, my house does have a yard – a large one. The yard was scruffy when I moved in. I thought I’d better smarten it up ready for the barbecue season, so I whitewashed the high walls. They looked absolutely great. Trouble was, the yard looked very bare. Not exactly inviting enough for a barby. The place needed something more ... more

Advantages Advantages excellent variety of quality plants

Disadvantages Disadvantages no deliveries to scotland (yet)

Every now and again an internet shopping service comes along that fits it's niche market perfectly. Crocus.co.uk is such an example. It offers plants, seeds, garden furniture and tools on it's website, which features a huge amount of free advice. Crocus start you off with weekly offers and specials - and as many of the items on offer need to be sold or planted at certain times of the year, the content of the site is always changing. Currently, they are offering flowers as displayed at the Chelsea flower show, together with excellent garden furniture items such as patio heaters (the heaters ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, strong plants, good prices, personal delivery (depends on area), aftersales service

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I am very impressed with the crocus website. My parents anniversary was upon me and I decided to look for some plants, this website gave me all the information I needed to choose suitable plants for their garden. I chose plants that were in-stock and completed the order filling in the address and special information to make sure this could be found. There was also an opportunity to add a greeting for the gift delivery. If I had wanted there was a wrapping option. I was surprised to receive a call 3 days later from Nigel the Crocus driver checking where the plants should be left as there was no ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast efficient service. Quality plants. Expert advice.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

They've got the lot. I couldn't believe the variety of plants on offer from this outstanding website. I've got a bit of an ongoing wish list of plants that I'd like to have, when I looked them up on Crocus they stocked practically all of them! That of course is the problem. If you are a plantaholic you could spend hours on this site just browsing and reading the descriptions of the gorgeous plants. But, that's not all. They have also got a facility for you to find the right plant for the right place in your garden. This is invaluable for those that are new to gardening, or perhaps have a new ... more

As a complete ameteur gardener who is about to move to a new home with lovely 'beds' I am at present scouring all the gardening magazines and websites I can lay my hands on. Crocus.co.uk bills itself as the UK's biggest gardening web site. Sounded promising. Also the fact that if you don't know your bulb from your elbow the site has plenty to offer sounded just the ticket. THis site looks VERY professional and had a LOT of useful content. The menu is quite extensive and not only can you buy products from here, you can also learn all about them - there is lots of info here so no need to fumble ... more

Advantages Advantages Loads of colour pics, e-mail plant doctor

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't think of any

I found the Crocus web site about 18 months ago. It's very well organised with clear headings and groups. There is a mass of helpful advice on design, colour theming, container gardening and many, many more subjects - and you can use all this advice without buying a thing! I have the RHS Garden Encyclopedia at home but find I never have to refer to it, I just use Crocus for anything and everything. I've spent approximately £100 with them and the plants have been top quality, and think of the benefits of delivery, no struggling home from the garden centre with compost spilling all over the car ... more

Advantages Advantages great website design, lots of helpful tips in newsletter

Disadvantages Disadvantages sends a newsletter which for some people is annoying, sometimes forgets items.

I have bought from crocus.co.uk about three times and I must say that each time they provided excellent service. The first time I bought two large ficus plants for my office and they were delivered by a real gardener who told me exactly how to look after them and where to place them in the office. They are still alive today and that is a year on... Then it was mother's day and I wanted to get my mum some flowers, she lives in Glasgow and I live in London. I wanted to spend about £30 and I bought this wonderful jasmin plant which was the size of a small child, really wonderful and it is still ... more

Advantages Advantages Online ordering, delivery to your door

Disadvantages Disadvantages Website not updated frequently

I'd shopped with them once before, and they were okay, so I went back to order 2 climbing plants. After a bit of searching (the website isn't very intuitive) I managed to find the right area, and chose the plants I wanted. Both were showing delivery within 10-15 days. So I placed the order. 2 days later, I noticed that my credit card had been charged and thought, "Great, they'll be arriving soon!" Unfortunately, not. I waited 28 days, and still hadn't heard anything. Paid the credit card bill, expecting to receive my order at any time. I tried to call, but their phone opening hours weren't ... more

Advantages Advantages Advice as well as plants and accessories

Disadvantages Disadvantages There are no disadvantages

I came upon crocus.co.uk by chance but now it is firmly in my favourites list and will definately remain there. Crocus has a wide range of gardening products for sale from statues and water features to tools and equipment and it also sells a large variety of plants , some of which are quite difficult to find in your average garden centre or local nursery. The prices are reasonable , I don't think they are particularly cheap but they are no more expensive than anywhere else. There are some nice decorative items for the garden such as a bronze labrador puppy statue which sells for just under £100 ... more
