Good website and selection of plants but sadly sometimes very much more expensive than my local garden centre prices. Worst problem is that delivery unbearably slow (pay 2 delivery charges if you want any sort of a chance that the plants will be despatched within two weeks) and customer service non-contactable. ...

Quick review of Crocus.co.uk
The service has definately gone down hill! Crocus used to provide excellent & speedy service but my most recent order has gone significantly over the 14 day limit without any communication why. It has been impossible to speak to anyone who can help & they seem to have outsourced their customer service function without the back up systems which allow orders to be checked except by e mail.
I asked for the name of the MD in my fourth call to them of the day & half an hour later I've had confirmation of despatch today! Seems a good tactic.
Plants are usually very good quality - shame that they don't seem set up to fulfill orders efficiently or deal with concerns. ...

I stumbled upon Crocus.co.uk pretty much by accident, you see I'm a member of Lightspeed Research which is a survey website where you build up points and exchange them for vouchers etc… I'd built up a nice little amount of points and decided to see what rewards were in my points bracket, one of the sites listed was Crocus.co.uk and after briefly visiting the site to see what plants they had available I traded in some of my points ... ...Crocus.co.uk-

Crocus.co.uk was recommended to me by a friend a few years ago, since then I have purchased many plants inc. Grasses, bamboo and climbers, 2 battery powered globe outdoor lights, a large bag of compost and 6 pots in varying size and prices, and found them very reasonable! Advantages: Online ordering, delivery to your door Disadvantages: Website not updated frequently
I'd shopped with them once before, and they were okay, so I went back to order 2 climbing plants. After a bit of searching (the website isn't very intuitive) I managed to find the right area, and chose the plants I wanted.
Both were showing delivery within 10-15 days.
So I placed the order.
2 days later, I noticed that my credit card had been charged and thought, "Great, they'll be arriving soon!" Unfortunately, not.
I waited 28 days, and still ... ...to receive my order at any time. I tried to call, but their phone opening hours weren't great, so I couldn't call when they were open.
I finally emailed, asking where my order was. About 5 days later I received a reply, explaining that they were exceptionally busy due to high response to their latest catalogue, and would get my order dispatched soon.
2 weeks later, I received part of the order. When I opened the box, part of the plant had been ...

I came upon crocus.co.uk by chance but now it is firmly in my favourites list and will definately remain there.
Crocus has a wide range of gardening products for sale from statues and water features to tools and equipment and it also sells a large variety of plants , some of which are quite difficult to find in your average garden centre or local nursery. The prices are reasonable , I don't think they are particularly cheap but they are no more expensive ... ...the garden such as a bronze labrador puppy statue which sells for just under £100 and they sell wicker pigs and bird baths ,as well as slightly more contempory items.
As well as the products for sale there is a large advice section and I am sure they mut be fed up with me emailing my garden problems and pest worries to them but they always answer within 2 days and the advice is always comprehensive and good. They also direct you to the relevent page ...

Advantages: Loads of colour pics, e-mail plant doctor Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I found the Crocus web site about 18 months ago. It's very well organised with clear headings and groups. There is a mass of helpful advice on design, colour theming, container gardening and many, many more subjects - and you can use all this advice without buying a thing! I have the RHS Garden Encyclopedia at home but find I never have to refer to it, I just use Crocus for anything and everything.

Many times I've squashed large conifers/shrubs etc in the back of my car and driven home at 10 miles an hour, but never again. The e-mail tips that you are sent from Alan Titchmarsh are great. On three or four occasions I've e-mailed their "Plant Doctor" for help in choosing the right rose, the right shrub etc., and I've had prompt, comprehensive advice, ...

Gardening has never appealed to me. It was something I swore I’d never do. In fact, when I bought a house a few months ago, I deliberately bought one without that pesky patch of grass surrounded by what I believed were called ‘borders’. However, my house does have a yard – a large one. The yard was scruffy when I moved in. I thought I’d better smarten it up ready for the barbecue season, so I whitewashed the high walls. ... ...looked very bare. Not exactly inviting enough for a barby. The place needed something more.
Perhaps a potted topiary tree or two would look nice. After all, if I bought them ready grown I’d only have to water the things, wouldn’t I? That wasn’t gardening, was it?
I bought the trees. Three of them. They are gorgeous. Two weeks later, something went wrong with my bay tree. I didn’t know what to do. I know nothing about trees, ...

Advantages: great website design, lots of helpful tips in newsletter Disadvantages: sends a newsletter which for some people is annoying, sometimes forgets items.
I have bought from crocus.co.uk about three times and I must say that each time they provided excellent service. They've got the lot. I couldn't believe the variety of plants on offer from this outstanding website. I've got a bit of an ongoing wish list of plants that I'd like to have, when I looked them up on Crocus they stocked practically all of them! That of course is the problem.
