    Disadvantages Disadvantages salespeople are a bit stalker ish until you make a purchase

    We have never had to buy a sofa until this year, as we have previously had different ones passed to us from various relatives who were replacing their own suite. We have been desperate for a new one for ages, but were put off because our cat had a bad rear leg, and when he jumped up onto the sofa, he would sometimes fall back off and end up catching the leather with his claws. The settee was just scratched to death, and the cushions were so poorly padded.     I generally don't have a problem with supplier of good. Most of them are pretty good dealing with any customer complaints but CSL is the worst I have seen. We ordered a sofa in store on 23rd Jan 2012 and was promised the delivery would be 13 weeks. The sofa arrived duly after 13 weeks but on delivery it was all scratched and had marks all over it during handling in transit. We did not accept the delivery and sent the sofa back.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Always expect to pay for repairs.

    We spent 2.4k on a suite from CSL in 2008, we thought we had bought well, the furniture looked well made in the showroom, on delivery we noticed that on one chair the edge of the chair front was lower than the other, we called out CSL to inspect it, "your imagining it, there's nothing wrong with the chair" was their reply. They refused to do anything with the chair except pushing the seat stuffing around. After 12months the seat on the other chair and the centre of the two arms collapsed; CSL charged £47.50 and sent out a technician to inspect who said we had been mis-using the chair, they ... more

    After i visited a few other furniture stores in the gateshead area and was hounded by sales people i walked into CSL and the atmosphere was unbelievably different. A couple of the sales men greeted us they told us if we seen anything we were interested in just to approach them and then left us to have a leisurely look round the store on our own. After seeing a suite we were interested in i approached PETER TOSE a fellow mackem who immidiately told us everything we needed to know about the suite in a friendly and unpushy manner.     Watch out for this company- they will let you down. The customer experience was good in the shop but since subsequently parting with more than £2k the service has been rubbish. First they delivered a broken sofa. This has been broken, repaired and subsequently sold as new. I rejected the first sofa and have been let me down every time I have spoken to them since. If you need to call them, expect to spend up to an hour waiting for them to answer the phone....They will make you lots of promises but I guarantee you will be disappointed in the end.     Advantages Advantages Good sales pitch and friendly sales staff, (the nice fluffy bits)

    Disadvantages Disadvantages VERY poor after sales, an "independent" assessor employed by them, and downright lies

    Bought a sofa from CSL June 2010. Sales staff were excellent, delivery on time and professional....that's where the good times ended 14 months on, the tan on the sofa has peeled revealing a lighter tan leather beneath. first complaint ignored, second complaint made and CSL contacted me (after the 12 month guarantee had expired), telling me that the upholstery was no longer covered by guarantee but I could have a visit to assess for an additional £47 fee.     I assume that is what CSL stands for anyway!! I purchased a sofa from their Lakeside store in November and got a delivery day of 26th Jan - a Saturday which I paid extra for so I didn't have to take time off work. All was looking good as I received a text telling me my slot time and so I have been sat in all day today waiting for them. I waited until 1 hour after then end of the slot and phoned customer services, who so far have been pretty good.     Superb Service From Paul at CSL Never bought anything over the phone before but the service I got was absolutely superb. Good honest advice about all aspects of my purchase.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Serious damage to our property caused by the CSL delivery team

    The CSL delivery team damaged our very expensive composite front door and kept quiet as a mouse, they left without mentioning any damage. So now we have some lovely gouges running across the door where they forced the sofa through it. We didn’t spot these marks initially because they only really stand out when the door is open. Seriously who actually inspects their door when they go in and out? Customer service is abysmal, they are rude and have effectively told us to get lost without bothering to send out an inspector.     we had a pleasent time at csl at metro center terries chocolate orange was very helpful kind and helped us out a great deal we would recommend csl to anyone wanting new sofas they are very professional and have a wide range in stock to choose from and i think there will be plenty of choice for anyone looking for new sofas to pick out . My wife and i only have one negative comment to say and this is that it would be good to have a CSL store closer to us or just somewhere in northumberland but we are very happy with the sofa we have picked and we are very excited for the delivery of our new sofa ... more
