    We have a small chest freezer, which fits perfectly inside the walk in pantry, so when it broke down recently we needed to find another one with exactly the same dimensions. Dave drove me round all over the place measuring freezers and checking prices. We found the best price at our new Currys store. I wasn’t particularly happy about this as I have had dealings with Currys before – I actually kept a file for all the complaints and letters that went back and forth about the TV and video we bought, but that’s another story.     So where do you go when you want a new TV, or a HiFi? I think that you will agree that Curry's is probably one of the first high street retailers that spring to mind, and for good reason too. They stock a huge range of pretty much all white and electrical goods for the home, and this is what makes them an authority in this area. ----Store---- I live in Ashford, Kent, so my review will be based upon my experience of my local Curry's superstore.     Normally when it comes down to electrical goods you wouldn't find me getting anything of value from a Curry's store, this is amily due to the fact that they are part of the Dixons group. Many people have had problems with their service over the years and the stories I've heard while I was in retail were amusing. But a few days ago I was paying my daily visits to the dvd forums when another user had posted something in the bargain forum.     When we moved into our first house I visited several retailers and found Currys to be the cheapest with a wide range of products. As we needed a hoover, fridge, washing machine, oven and amicrowave they assured me that if Ibought everything from them they would give us a discount. I was disappointed to find that the discount was only £5 per item. When I protested however they increased the total dicount to £100 which was much more impressive.     Well after a really long absense from Ciao, I'm sorry to be returning with a grudge of gargantuan proportions. Having recently discovered the joys of shopping on ebay.co.uk (perhaps a future op), I've been buying lots of DVDs which will only play on a multi-region DVD player. Which I have. Unfortunately my TV is so old, that it isn't NTSC-compatible (a requirement of Region 1 DVDs). Having been duffly sold an incompatible TV in Tottenham Court Road (we took it back), I felt a high street retailer might be more reliable.     This is a store that sells kitchen appliances like cookers, fridge freezers, toasters, as well as televisions, videos, and much more like computer games and mobile phones. Our house needed a new fridge freezer, as the old one was making to much ice, and we were having difficulty closing the door, and anyway it was time we bought a new one. We chose Curry’s because it was good on price, and it had one that was the same size, as we needed.     Adverts are a joke! The advertiser would have you believe that what they are advertising is perfect. Once you take that product you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. To give you a good example, look at the burgers in a McDonalds' advert. Plump, juicy and about a good inch thick. Buy one AT a McDonalds, and then you'll see what I mean! The same goes for Currys. Look at the advert. "No worries". Well, if I had "No worries", why I am I about to launch this diatribe?!?!     I have reposted this review from its orginal, and wrong, placing. There is also an update appended. First a bit of background. I recently moved house, so needed to buy some new electrical goods for my home. My son drove me to Curry's with the intention of purchasing a washing machine and a fridge freezer, as well as a couple of smaller items. OK, so the store is spacious and well lit, and there are a multitude of items on offer to choose from. Thats the good news. Now for the bad.     Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only unlucky one? I would love to hear from others if you have been pestered about extra care insurance! Currys is a retailer which sells electrical items - cookers, washing machines, hifi's computers, games consoles, hoovers, fridge freezers, games, televisions, dvd players, videos, mobiles, digiboxes and so on. Our local Currys is located right next to Comet, so is easy to go between the shops and compare prices. Now there is one reason why I love Curry's and that is because I have a store card.     I have purchased several items from this well known reputable store and each and every time I have also bought insurance. This insurance has been pushed onto me by insistent sales people when I know that I won't need it (which has been proved correct). In the future I will think twice about going here as I just don't like the way they won't take no for an answer, I mean fair enough, they are welcome to ask once but not umpteen times continuosly ignoring my negative responses.
