I have seen Currys stores on the High Street since the 1970s. It seemed the type of store which you would view from outside but not go in. There were never many customers in the store. In the 1980s it had a reputation for selling electrical goods which were priced above average and were not reliable. Dixons took over Currys and things improved. Currys sells a variety of electrical goods eg fridges, cookers, microwave ovens, videos, mobile phones, ...
...and me visited Iceland and Currys for a replacement. Iceland could not give a prompt delivery so we were left with Currys. We found a couple of fridges with the right dimensions and at very reasonable prices.
