    Advantages Advantages Non-pushy sales. Almost constant sales so good prices when reduced. Great delivery people.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No set delivery time. Short notice for delivery.

    I have been slogging away decorating my living room for quite some time now, 6 months infact. It’s taken absolutely ages as I wanted to do it properly and a lot of work was involved for the living room to end up like how I’d imagined it. . .     Advantages Advantages stores all over the country, always a sale on, not too pushy, payment and delivery

    Disadvantages Disadvantages those annoying adverts, having to pay extra for everything

    I had been trawling through the various furniture stores and dedicated sofa shop since last summer and out of desperation even looked at the Argos catalogue. As I could only afford to pay a set amount of money I was limited to where I could ultimately shop. Also, I live in a modern flat which means small rooms and not a lot of room to place large pieces of furniture. In the end I made several trips to two DFS stores, the one in Watford and the other one in Brent Cross.     DFS We have had our old three-piece suite for quite a number of years and after having our daughter it had begun to look a little worn so it was about time for a new one. The only problem we had was that new sofa’s did not come cheap and there was no way we could afford to spend out a lump sum in one. Then we saw the adverts for DFS offering 0% interest for payments over four years and nothing to pay for the whole first year.     I am sure that there aren't many people out there who haven't heard of DFS. If you haven't heard of them, they are a large sofa company. There are over 70 DFS stores in the UK and you are able to order sofas in store or online. You can't dispute that DFS have a huge range of sofas destined to suit almost anyone. Whether you want plain leather, fabric or suede or feel like something quite bold, coloured or patterned, there is bound to be a sofa for you at DFS. DFS use the expertise of 6 Designers, the most famous being Linda Barker. At the moment you just can't seem to get away from DFS adverts ... more

    With the deposit down on my new flat, the first piece of large furniture myself and the other half decided to buy was our sofa, knowing that a sofa can take anything up to 8 weeks to be delivered, we wanted to get it sorted as soon as possible. I have heard many mixed things about DFS over the years and I accepted that, like any big company there are going to be people who have had bad experiences with them, luckily, I seemed to be one of the luckier customers and wanted to share my experience.     Mr F and I visited DFS after several months of nagging, by myself concerning the purchase of a new suite. We have had our old suite going on seven years now and after many hours of torment unleashed by Charlotte it was looking decidedly worn! There seem to be new DFS stores popping up all over the place, along with plenty of advertising in the National press we decided to pay a visit. The store we visited is a new one in Small Heath, Birmingham. It is quite large and with massive windows provides a large airy space to show off plenty of suites.     I'm sure you all saw the Adverts over Christmas about the DFS Sales, well we did anyway. We hadn't been thinking about a new Sofa until we saw the adverts, but they seemed to Hypnotise us. As well as the Adverts, we had the brochures through the door, so it wasn't difficult to notice the selection they had on offer. And after browsing the brochure, not to mention their Website, we decided to visit the store. We chose to go on Sunday 31st December, as that was supposed to be the last day of the sales.     I moved in my house nearly 5 years ago now, and one of the first things I needed to buy was a sofa to sit on! I didn't look anywhere else other than DFS as it was the first shop I went in, and I found a sofa and chair that I fell in love with and didn't want anything else! When I went in the shop, in Bolton, Middlebrook, I was not hassled by the sales staff. They asked me if I needed any help, and just let me and my boyfriend wander round and look for ourselves, which was great, as I hate it when you can't look properly because a salesman wants your sale and won't leave you alone!     Having recently purchased a new home I needed a couch, for me comfort is far more important than appearance, I need to feel like I can sink into the couch, not like I'm sitting on rock. After visiting a few sofa stores such as SCS, Furniture Village and Harvey's I was no better off, I found all their sofas either too expensive for what you got or too old fashioned. The appearance of many was also strange looking in some cases and offered very little colour variation.
