Advantages: Small, space-saving, good value for money and effective Disadvantages: Can be intimidating at first, may need an extra cable
...After running a simple D-Link configuration wizard, I had wireless internet access on my laptop. File/printer sharing was a bit more tricky. After spending nearly two days unsuccessfully trying to get it sorted, I called in a professional friend who does this for a living, and who took one look before turning off my Sygate Pro Firewall, and then everything was sorted just fine. It was very difficult to configure the Sygate program to allow network ... ...which is compatible with other D-Link products, i.e. their wireless network adaptor range 'out-of-the-box' as they put it, but my network adaptor isn't D-Link and I had no problems (firewall aside, that is!). You can also configure the settings to an existing network.
I think this is a good choice for the price (around £40-50), you don't need to be an expert to install and configure it, and the performance I've had since getting it all working is ...

Advantages: Easy & Quick Setup, Cheap, Game Mode Disadvantages: Walls Constrict Wi-Fi Range
I bought this router on eBay for £20. I used this to connect 2 computers to the same internet connection to save running another lead through to the new computer. I plugged the router in and connected it up to a computer and read the instruction manual which is very useful. It comes with a wizard that gives you step by step instructions on how to configure the router with your internet connection, so I ran this and it worked fine.
The instruction ... ...set up different restrictions on the router to allow certain computers to connect to it wirelessly. After about 20 minutes I had both computers working with the internet connection. I also wanted to use this router to connect computers together wirelessly to create a network so games can be played on individual workstations. It is so easy to setup that the instructions were not needed. With around 3 computers connecting to the router on different ...

I got broadband about 3 yrs ago and as you do with one pc you just use a cable then the wife said "I want my own pc" so being the man of the house i gave in. I have to say that for being a novice networker at the time it was daunting to say the least when i got the router home and unpaked it but following the step by step instructions made it easier..... (having a technophobic wife pecking your head while your trying to help her get on the internet doesnt help) After following the well laid out instructions in the glossy manual and getting all the info that the router needed ...

Advantages: Well it works.... and thats a start... Disadvantages: none as yet....
Well maybe its just a case of me not being too much of a wizard on computers of maybe Im just not too bright. This is the third wireless router I have tried to set up and touch wood so far it has been working great... for 2 weeks.
Two netgear ones have let me down previously which is par for the course reading other reviews, but this one seems to be ok, even though it was the cheapest in the shop.
It normally has ample speed for two wireless connections ... ...10meg connection which it does struggle with, particuarly when I am using a file sharing program with multiple jobs going at once. Luckily it is my daughters connection which seems to suffer upstairs so it does not effect me that much.
I am just so glad to have something that works. Nice and small so tucks into my cupboard as well. Very little complaints at all
Go on. Give it a go. ...
