Within an hour, somebody had replied and was able to show me a page they had set up that walked you through the whole thing step by step. It seems a lot of the settings on it you just leave alone, all you have to do is follow their instructions and then enter the WEP key were they tell you, (guess ... ...removed my old modem and software and away I went. Then I went downstairs to my shed to set up the other end. Erm… ok, now what? I had bought a little wireless USB "dongle" and assumed I just plugged it in, and that was it? Nope. Dlink D-link is a fast growing network solutions company that offer high quality products at an affordable price. I have nothing but praise for d-link and there products. The rougher in question is a great piece on engineering. The rougher specifications are great considering its age. It came out in around 2002 and still keeps up with most of the modern roughers. 22 megabits per second is defiantly enough for any broadband connection the standard ... ...22.0 mbps connection there is no problem. The rougher also come with a built in modem which will accept any speed ADSL connection, so if you have a 0.5mbps Connection or an 8 mbps connection the modem will support the link. Also if the connection ever drops for some reason the rougher will automatically attempt to reconnect. The other great thing is that the rougher acts as a hardware firewall which will stop any unwanted intruders.

The Dlink router 604+ is a nice piece of kit. Well worth the money it is cheep to purchase it gives the ability to share broadband with up to 14 computer all tough I wouldn’t recommend it due to the speed of broadband 500k divided between 14 work out about 36k which means if 14 people where using broadband at the same time it would run really slow. It would recommend only putting 5 computers on the wireless link and if you want any more use ... ...added hard ware firewall, which should keep most viruses out especial if you accompany it with a good version of anti virus. You don’t even need to have a broadband modem, as this is already part of the router. Set up is easy it is just like using the internet, you set up DHCP Which will tell you computers that are connected to give your PCs there addresses. And off you go. Specs 22mbps wireless Connection
