Advantages: Cheap to run Disadvantages: might not be roomy for some people
...if I had seen the Daewoo Matiz, I didn't know if you drove it or ate it. Never heard of such a car. Well he said we have four or five to choose from.
I settled on test driving an S reg blue one. It was already five years old and was one of the first made. The price was £2475 (and was the most expensive car I had ever bought)
When I took it onto the road for a test drive I was surprised. It was easy to drive, the clutch pedal was very light, the ... ...have never owned a car so reliable, and cheap to run as this and I will sing the praises of Daewoo forever. A good starter car, and if Daewoo (actually it's owned by Chevrolet now) gave the Matiz a slightly more powerful engine, some pulling power, and improved it's minor faults, this would be a car I'd stick with longer term. ...

...wife and I took our Daewoo Matiz SE for its first year servicing and had the opportunity to discuss the financial state of the company.
Daewoo in Korea is one of those companies with fingers in many pies eg television, video, microwave, shipbuilding, banking as well as car manufacturing. It transpires that the shipbuilding subsidiary borrowed large amounts of capital without paying the loans off. This led to a financial shortfall leading to the ... ...things.
A buyer of Daewoo Cars is now being sought with General Motors being the likely bidder.
There were press articles saying that Daewoo staff in Worthing did not receive pay for a couple of months. This was exaggerated with payment of wages being delayed only by a few days.
Our Daewoo Matiz SE was designed in Italy and cost £6440 in 1999. Now the price is £6595. The engine carrying capacity is 796 cc. The fuel capacity is 35 litres. It runs ...

The good old Daewoo Matiz. My very kind mother and me have the fortune of part owning this magnificent specimen of a car. It truly is the modernised version of the classic mini, economical, compact and not too bad to look at. I have only got a T registered model, so I am not quite up to date. However from my experience this car is as sound as a pound.
It comes with a 0.8 litre engine, really tiny, but because of its size and minimal weight it is ... ...a part owner of a Daewoo is the company’s current problems. If I am not mistaken they are currently or at least very close to liquidation. Whether or not problems will arise in the future, when attempting to get new parts etc. is a mystery. Hopefully the company can stay afloat and survive, but if they do go under you have got to wonder what may happen about depreciation of price.
Anyway less of the doom and gloom and lets look at the features you ...

After getting a new job that wasn't on the way for my girlfriend to be able to drop me off at, I decided I had to finally buy myself a car all of my own.
Dreams of Ferrari's and Porsche's were lost as I realised I needed something cheap, reliable, and economical to run. Of course if it was practical and flexible and also looked pretty good that would be a benefit too!
I toyed with the idea of a Smart car, but they only had 2 seats and no boot space, ... ...models.
I went through Yaris, Micra's, Fiesta's, none of them seemed to endear themselves to me. I thought maybe I was just spoilt with our "main" car - a Honda Jazz (a really excellent car btw - I will be writing a review on this later!)
Eventually I took a humble Matiz for a test drive. First things I noticed - it's tiny on the outside, but big on the inside, in fact it is so small it's a pleasure to park in busy cities, but can still hold 5 ...

...I noticed the car the Daewoo Matiz. I had never in my life heard of it so I came onto DooYoo and Ciao looking at reviews and noticed the positive feedback. ...had never heard of the Daewoo Matiz, I was worried, but was reassured by his positive comments about the car.
My car is a Red Daewoo Matiz SE, 2000 model. It was in good condition when I got it, apart from a dent in the back.... there is now one in the front too (silly post!!). I immediatley fell in love with this little car. It is small and cute! The front of the car even looks like a face, with the big lights and red bumper. Although it looks ... ...thought I might have problems fitting in passengers, however, have manged to fit 5 adults including me into it, complete with weekend luggage! I was pretty amazed, if I am honest, it was a bit tight but it was a shirt journey so no one minded. It has 5 doors too, which makes it easier to get in and out. The boot space isn't huge, but I find I can fit the weekly shop in no problem or a small amount of luggage. If I really need to the back seats fold ...

Advantages: Nippy, comfortable, easy to drive, ecomomical, reliable, makes me smile Disadvantages: Some people just wont like it
I bought the Matiz in September 2007 and I have used it as a run about ever since. The mileage when I bought it was just under 10k which I thought was very good for a car was only 7 years old. It was bought new by an old lady who did not use it much so it was left in the garage for long periods of time un used. I went to view the car and the condition was excellent, inside it had the new car smell, all the seats were new and inside the car no wear ... ...(6'1") I did think, how am I going to fit in that. Well I sat in the drivers seat and and moved the seat fully back, I was now seated very comfortably, I had plenty of leg room and the seat felt very supportive, apart from the head rest which when adjusted fully it still is no where near the back of my head. The pedals at first did feal very flimsy but this is probably because I am used to driving a van. They were wide enough spaced so I could use ...

I bought my Matiz SE new about 7 months ago and I am still smiling at the deal now. 3 years interest free credit, 3 year warranty, 1 years road tax and an advanced driving course thrown in on top! I think it was so good because the new registrations were due out a month later - maybe that's the best time to buy.

The first thing everyone notices when they get in the Matiz is how roomy and comfortable it is. My husband, being over 6 foot, definately appreciated the unusual headroom. It has such a light and spacious feel, it realy is a pleasure to travel in.

How it drives?
It doesn't drive bad, but its not an VW or Audi. Its ... ...parking and in the road. It drives well on the motorway if you only drive it around 60-70mph. Its brakes are not very dependable, well this is how I feel. but it is ideal for supermarket shopping and driving around city, cause parking its absolutely no problem with this mini car. It is surprisingly 5 doors and it is as small as Mini. I can tell parking is dead easy with this vehicle. Even mygrandma can park this car easily
Any disadvantages?

Daewoo Matiz (1998 - 2005)
Well its been a while but here we go, its time for yet again another review straight from the horses mouth (Note : Im not a horse lol)

AND BEST OF ALL.....
Didnt look as if it was housing a 2 litre petrol guzzling engine....

Maintenance - This was the number 1 priority for me having had a couple of bad experiences with cars. I wanted a car that was first and foremost reliable and had a good warrantly if anything did go wrong.
