“Daihatsu's little gem”

published 14/05/2007

Cheap to run ; Super reliable; interesting ;fun an...

Not so good at long journeys

Bought the little Cuore back in 2003 ; quite a cute good looking car ; nothing fancy inside ; but the interior is pleasant enough. Super reliable to date I and my wife had had no problems with mechanics or any other part of the car. Very economical too just about runs on the smell of petrol ; an...

Satisfactory

“Daihatsu Cuore 1.0”

published 30/04/2001

Small, cheap, low tax

Looks and feels too cheap and plasticy

Daihatsu Cuore 1.0 I was unlucky enough to get one of these “things” as a courtesy car while my car was having a service. It has a 3 cylinder engine smaller than 1 litre. Inside the car is plasticy and you feel like you may pull the indicator storks off if you press them too hard. The...

Good

“Be still my beating heart”

published 21/01/2001

cheap to buy and run

underpowered

Little known fact, Cuore is Italian for heartbeat, and like the television show of the same name this car is easy going, bland and inoffensive. Certainly driving this baby Daihatsu is not going to make you heart beat any faster. The engine is less than one litre and unusually in todays market it...

Not for me

“Why NOT to buy one of these”

published 24/11/2000

cost effective

unsafe, tinny, small, undrivable

I drive cars for a living, and have had the pleasure (?!) of driving a Daihatsu Cuore. The only positive thing I have to say about the car is that it is relatively inexpensive in comparison to other cars in its class, both to run and to buy. Now the negatives; It is not a drivers car- if you...

Very Economical

lack of luggage space

I got my cuore in sept05. I purchased the cuore + 5 door version which came with electric windows and mirrors, power steering and free first service. I loved the way the car looked and this was part of the reason I purchased it. I much prefer this shape to the old shape cuore which was a lot...

Super

“A nippy little car”

published 28/12/2003

Low running costs

Limited space

In some respects this is a perfect car. Group two insurance so even fully comp is accessible. Low tax 847cc engine. You can park in the smallest of spaces. Though saying that, it doesn't mean that you can open the door enough to get out on 3door version. I must admit the jeers from people take a...

“I love my coure”

published 18/06/2004

cheap tax, cheap to run, great first car

loud, lack of space in the back and boot

This car is a fantastic first car. Its cheap as chips to run and tax. I love mine. Yeah, I'd love to have something cooler but for now, until I'm rich this is perfect. Tax is £105 a year (at present) and you can fill the tank for £20. This lasts me 10 days going back and forth to work. And a...

Economical, City Small, Environmentally Friendly

Small

I love my little Daihatsu Cuore! It's not the first car you would think of buying but once you have one you'll be a convert too! For city living there isn't much better, I thought about getting a mini or a smart and I'm so glad I didn't. The Cuore is small enough to be a perfect city car, as you...
