Advantages: Cheap in comparison to most other DVD players; fits in with mod cons; plays almost anything Disadvantages: support (or lack of it); not sure about if it could recover after a knock
...was on, funnily enough, this Dansai DVD player. It caught my eye whilst I was curiously browsing through the new electronic goodies in my local Tesco Extra store, modestly priced at just under £70. Please note, however, that this was a special offer price and, although you may find this DVD player costing around the same price as I paid, DVD players have seriously decreased in value over the last few months and prices are continuing to fall today.
... ...Even by today’s standards, the Dansai 1010 DVD player looks very modern. All of the buttons on the front of the player are either circular (like the power button) or shaped in a semi-circular pattern, giving the player a stylish look. The actual DVD drive itself is pretty bog-standard; its shape is the normal rectangular shape you see on nearly every DVD player. Below the drive is a row of function logos; VCD, of course, being one of them.

Advantages: Very Cheap! Unlockable! Disadvantages: Some poor quality picture
...to be had because the dansai 1010 can be unlocked via the factory settings in your own home to turn it into a multi-region DVD player making the price of the DVD player even better for what you get for the money!
APPERANCE
A nice cool silver colour (noticing a trend in the products that I buy-there all silver!) and the buttons are ergonomically designed to fit in just right to the front of the player. There are all the basic buttons on the front ... ...it).
FEATURES The Dansai is also able to play Mp3s, CDs, VCDs and all the usual other optical media products you would expect a DVD player to play. You can speed up and slow down the picture and pause it-I cant really say much as you would expect all of these things from a DVD player and the Dansai has no extra special features that the next DVD player wouldn’t have. So I think that this product is great if you just want something cheap that you ...

Advantages: Cheap, Good Picture Quality Disadvantages: Looks cheap
I purchased this DVD Player for the kids, as it was cheap. (£70 from Tesco's at the time). I was very nicely surprised to see just how good the quality was. This player plays all Films well, and has an extensive remote control which includes sebtitles, zoom and angle etc.
It also plays films in the vcd format. I had a disc which i made which had holiday film on, which was recorded using the SVCD format, but it wouldn't play it. After looking around ... ...i had to do was to copy the update on to a disc, and then turn on the DVD player with the disc in. 20 seconds later, it was done. Just had to take the disc out and then turn the DVD Player off by the mains for 15 seconds, and then it was complete. A good quality DVD player which now plays DVD, CD, VCD, SVCD and MP3. Also, the firmware update makes this player multi-region. (Any help on this subject can be found by searching for this model on dvdhelp.com). ...
