I went into Debenhams in Wigan in the North West and was about to spend around £100 pounds on clothes and various other things. Anyway I had remembered watching a programme on store cards. I first became aware of this account card when my mum first applied for one many years ago. This account card has a first downer of being a very high APR of which in my mind has a big red cross over it, but the benifits of the card if used to its full potentional can out weigh and avoid the bad. ...always a sale on at Debenhams anyway). Sounds good? Well, these are the bonuses, but how about the limitations? As with other credit cards, there is no annual charge, and the minimum payment I believe is 5% or £5. But with Debenhmans you have 30% interest to pay on any outstanding balances. I have had Debenhams Gold card for as long as I can remember. It must be 15 years. I have seen just about every aspect to this card that there is over this time. ...and undiscussed issues surrounding the debenhams account card is the hassle that the staff of the stores have to take from both customers and managers over this little peice of plastic. i am a member of the debenhams staff team and as a top account opener i have had great amounts of hassle and pressure placed on me over it almost to the stage of me quiting working for Debenhams.
