Advantages: Cheap, reliable and works with Windows Vista Disadvantages: Expensive ink if brought direct from Dell
The Dell 725 printer is available to purchase directly from Dell online. This is what I would class as their budget range of printer.
I purchased this printer nearly 12 months ago, at the bargain price of £19.99 (prices may differ now), at the time it also came with free delivery. The printer was brought as a in between printer as I did not expect it to last long at the price it was available for. Needless to say, it's been excellent 12 months down ... ...by all means buy the Dell cartridges. I'm sure if you search the internet you'll be able to find some compatible cartridges (although I've not had much luck with this).
I would also say to be wary of the draft feature. First off, only use the draft feature when printing black, if you try to print a colour with the draft feature then it ends up being near impossible to see. Also, you need to keep your eye on the printer when printing in draft, it ...

Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, relatively fast Disadvantages: Only takes Colour Cartridges, not a viable option for regular printing
...easy to use, although the Dell software is quite intrusive when printing and sometimes I wish it would go away. The product is suited for light home use, although due to the fact that there is no single black ink cartridge there are much better printers out there for arguably a more reasonable price. Advantages: Cheap, Not a bad Design, Color Disadvantages: Poor quality, Poor Graphics, Noisy
...on the top marked with Dell sign, it has a basic USB connection for operation, it has a satisfactory speed of printing.
I recommend it for a basic home use, non-photo printing, and definately not for someone printing documents, it also doesnt do a good job on that. If you get it for free or £10 - take it, but if you see it more expensive than that, someone is just trying to push out a deal out of a poor machine printer. You can find a specifications ...
