...After 10 minutes on the Dell web site I was fairly convinced I had found what I was looking for. I won't boar you with the specifications but I need a powerful machine for work purposes rather than a games machine. Dell "do" the works. They sell home machines, work machines, networked machines refurbished machines - you name they'll probably have it! Now price wise, Dell were and probably still are slightly more expensive than places like PC World ...

Dell personnel probably work on a commission basis and are therefore eager to give you their details so that if you do ring back you can speak to them directly. ...only true dissapointment is that Dell have decided to stick with the current floppy and CD drive from the LS's larger brother, the CP range. This makes the LS seam like a bit of an after thought. The outer caseing for the LS is smooth, curvy and obvioulsly well designed but then once you attatch the CD and Floppy you have two large lumps of black (dark grey) plastic sitting next to you prize ultra modern laptop. It's a bit like sticking a Lada interior ...
...not an option on the Dell LS but it is on the big brother. This is a shame as the SpeedStep software really does speed NT up, which is how I run all my Laptops. They are also limited to the ammount of ramm, so for larger applications you would be far better advised to go for a Dell CPX. Ive always fancied a dell computer, the design of the system is by far the most attractive computer on the market with its nice dark grey colour scheme and stylish logo. I opted for a 2.5ghz system with a flat monitor screen and all the usual dvd/cdrw extras for the full multi media experience. It was easy ordering from dell, the phone was answered immediatley without been placed on hold for ages ...
