Advantages: good processor, beautiful screen, loads of little extra perks Disadvantages: cant think of any
This laptop is great! Dell gave me this free due to having so many problems with my old inspiron 6000, and i couldn't be happier. when it arrived i compared it to my old laptop, which dell let me keep until i had transfered my documents over, and it is by far the better quality laptop. its light weight, the keys are cushioned so you dont have that annoying clicking noise when you type. the screen is beautiful, it is so clear and the pciture quality ... ...can connect it to a HD TV and play games on a big sreen and a memory card reader which reads SD cards, XD cards and sony memory stick pro cards easily and transfers data quickly! the wedge shape tilts the keyboard for ease of use both on a desk and on your knee. I'm over the moon with my freebie laptop, and would have happily buy one if i needed to! ...

...such an emergency was my Dell Inspiron 1525. purchased on offer for an exceptional price of roughly £250. I am typing this review on the very computer now. the look and feel of the laptop is smooth, shiny and modern. its relatively small and light but maintains a perfect balance between mobility, performance and screen size. the screen is very very clear and the resolution is comfortably crisp AND smooth. the performance on this laptop is great for ... ...majority of small games extremely well and is great for small children's amusement or just a pass time. the cinematic performance is more than acceptable. encoding and decoding with unexpected performance. this laptop I would recommend mainly as an artists system, a home based system or a business / educational accessory, I am using it for all of those along with a second monitor plugged into the side it has become my main computer and is living ...

...1525 to replace my current Dell desktop, an USFF Optiplex SX280. This is partly due to wanting to rid my life of clutter on a desk, and ultimately a desk, so this really will be used on my lap. As a result I have also specced it with the internal mobile broadband 3G/HDSPA card for Vodafone, so that I can access the internet, in theory, from anywhere. Since I am already a Vodafone customer I intend to add 3G use to the account and get rid of my BT ... ...I'm interested to see how well this will work in the real world. Initial impressions of the Inspiron are very good. I have chosen a gloss white finish on the lid, and it looks really smart. Nobody will actually be fooled into thinking it's an MacBook, but I like the simplicity of the colour and also the fact that, unlike the other colour choices available, it was free. Additionally there is no clip on the lid, just a hinge that snaps it shut, not ...

Advantages: It's personal, and beautiful Disadvantages: Not as reliable as it should be
I had purple with flowers and a mate of mine had brown (boring), but it really does personalise it. It's quite heavy, though and unless you get the extra 9 cell battery thing it doesn't last very long. It says up to six hours, but I've had trouble getting it past one. You can plug it in while you work, but the lead is quite short, and I've had to use an extension lead, which is something else to carry around. Sometimes it makes weird clicky noises, ...

Advantages: Fast, good to look at, good value. Disadvantages: Build quality.
Bought the laptop for university and am generally pleased with it. I went for the most expensive processor and 4gb ram, so it's quick. The screen is great - very clear and well lit, and it's a nice laptop to look it - mine's yellow XD. The keyboard is very nice to use - the buttons all feel just right - but the touch sensitive media/volume controls aren't great. There are 2 headphone ports, and a HDMI connector - which are nice, though I don't really ... ...aren't great and there are build quality issues - the lovely silver finish is marked a lot to the right of the touchpad, where my palm has been resting when typing, and it even creaks a little when I pick it up - disappointing for a 3-month old laptop. I'm also having trouble with the USB ports - the ones on the right hand side only work with certain devices. I haven't yet been able to take this up with Dell, as I need the laptop and won't be able ...

Advantages: Pretty and nice to use Disadvantages: Gets a bit over heated and battery doesn't last for very long
My red Dell Inspiron 1525 was one of my best purchases. It's very pretty and small enough to transport easily. The battery life isn't amazing, but luckily I usually use it near a place where it can be plugged in. I've had some trouble with the internet on it, but never had to call anyone out as it usually fixes itself after a day or so.
