Inspiring Inspiron from Dell
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
rosebud2001
Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor
Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.
I purchased the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the ...

Dell Inspiron 1545 - very reliable, ideal for a student
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
pmorris9191
Advantages: Great Performance, Attractive cover, brilliant screen quality
Disadvantages: Smudges around keyboard, poor battery life
I bought this laptop from PC World in August and I am now at university. Since coming to university, I have used the laptop everyday for a wide range of tasks - and yes, I believe it has performed very well each time.
Performance
Both Startup, and shutdown are very speedy, ideal when you are in a hurry - as many students are! Once the logged in, the desktop appears rather quickly even though I have large programs such as Adobe Dreamweaver installed. ...

Nice laptop, FAB extended warranty!
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
pippy_pop
Advantages: Good specs, fast, wonderful extended warranties
Disadvantages: Feels a bit flimsy, no indicator lights showing wifi connection, etc.
...battery power (like my old Dell Inspiron does). Some people hate that. I'm not too bothered as I rarely paid attention to those lights, anyway. It also has buttons on the keypad to let you mute or change volume, which is very nice as my husband's last laptop didn't have that and it seemed to take forever for him to get the volume down if an ad popped up or a page had music! My current laptop has the "media" keys on the edge of the case facing me, ...

Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
beckyXX
Advantages: Cheap, good brand, lots of features,
Disadvantages: Probably not powerful enough for games, bottom of the market now
The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell ...

Good for Documents, Movies, Music but not for Games
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
mistystorm
Advantages: Losts of storage space, Reasonable price, Great multitasker
Disadvantages: Not for games due to poor graphics card and slower processor
The Dell inspiron 1545 is a good, reasonable laptop for someone like a college student who has lots of work to do on Microsoft word and want to have the ability to multitask such as listening to music without any lag or slowness.
The laptop has an Intel Celeron processor (2.2GHz), which is great for multitasking but bad for games. If you want a laptop for gaming the best processor to go for (at a reasonable price) is a Core 2 duo processor. I recently ...

The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
coolchick2458
Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about
The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping ...

Great for students or employees with large documentation!
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
William1692
Advantages: Suits documents and media processing
Disadvantages: Gaming is a big NO NO on this machine.
...rate.
as it is made by Dell you know great support is available, while you may be able to find a similar spec laptop at cheaper cost.
I believe the ram is upgradable which is probably recommended to DDR3, as this will help with the gaming aspect if thats what you are into.
BEWARE! - If you are into gaming, this isnt the machine for you, the integrated graphics card is bad, but if its not an issue read on.
It the perfect laptop for office/college work. ...

great little pc
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
posy1
Advantages: easy to clean
Disadvantages: no number keypad
...reason
anyhow, I looked at one dell laptop and it was lovely, I like to have the seperate number keypad at the side but the downside with that pc was the finish of the case, it was in lovely colours but it had a matt finish that I just knew would annoy me because I wouldn't be able to wipe it clean - so I was shown the older model - the 1545 - it had a lovely shipy ice blue case and shiney silver inside, so easy to clean and wipe - it didn't have ...

Big laptop Small money
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
happysh2009
Advantages: small money for perfect performance
Disadvantages: none
I have used Dell Inspiron 1545 for a couple of months. I'm glad I made right decision. My friend who works in computer filed suggested me this one after asking me my demand for a laptop.
First , I would like to say , it can totally meet all requirements I expected from a good laptop. I use it to write articles especially for my blog, to send and receive emails, to talk on MSN and Skype with my family and friends abroad. It never let me down. I ...

Decent price for good laptop.
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
sarz19
Advantages: Looks good and large hard drive memory.
Disadvantages: Runs slow at times, webcam not included in price.
I bought this laptop on offer for £349 including a free upgrade to 4GB memory. The laptop looks very good. It is sleek and stylish. Also it has Windows vista which is very easy to use. There are 3 USB ports and it has a widescreen (15.6 inches). The sound quality is fantastic, can go up to a high volume level compared to other laptops and the image quality is very good to. Pictures and videos are very clear and the graphic quality is high also. The ...

Great little laptop!
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
BlackOleander19
Advantages: Size, Portability, Looks, Speed, Ease of Installing New Stuff
Disadvantages: The mousepad sensitive, easy to fingermark the product, loud fan noises, odd keyboard shortcuts
...haggling, and I spied the Dell a few minutes ago. What initially annoyed me about Dell was all the freeware they put on their machines. My friend (who is really into computers) told me that it makes their machines slow, so I was avoiding the Dell like the plague.
Anyways, I figured (during the long process of "I need Microsoft Office") that I could ask the University IT staff to take off the Dell freeware I didn't need (image editing and video editing ...

dell 1545 laptop
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
rosie88
Advantages: cheap laptop
Disadvantages: after a few months of use it feels loike a disposable laptop
i bought this laptop at christmas and it has been rather good for the money i paid for it. the only downside was that it crashed about 3 times in the last 5 months. vista slows the computer down and i would recommend using xp. overall for the price of the laptop you are getting a reasonable value for money. if you have a bigger budget i would recommend buying a mac. these are good investments and that going to be my next laptop.
the build quality ...

Dell Laptop
Review of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop by
ja6aki55
Advantages: Looks and feels good, easy to work and carry about
Disadvantages: battery broken within a year
...and I would buy a Dell laptop again. I use my laptop everyday but i would have expected the batttery to last longer, especially seeing as it is dell. Now I have the hassel of getting the battery fixed. I would still reccomend this dell laptop to other people as it is good value for money and looks nice etc and apart from the battery the laptop is easy to use and I haven't had any other problems with it. Dell is usually a reliable service and hopefully ...
