...Mainly it will cover the Dell Mini9 netbook, which is after all the heading under which it is filed, but inevitably it will also cover the Vodafone mobile broadband contract under which it was bought.
Computing has gone through a bit of an upheaval recently. Things used to be so much more straightforward; ever since I bought my first PC the standard domestic buyer would need to spend about £1000 to get something that could cope with all their needs, ... ...the board and while the Dell isn’t the best in all categories it really only falls down in one area, which I’ll cover later, and it does have one significant advantage in terms of connectivity. In order to get internet access out and about, while not relying on wireless hot spots etc, you’re going to have to sign up to a mobile broadband account. These are usually provided by the big mobile phone carriers and service is delivered via a dongle (a ...

...internet. Taking into account that Dell are selling the laptop for about £280, the internet works out to be £540 for the two years, or £22.50 a month. To be honest, its cheaper to buy separately as its only £15 a month for 3GB, on a 1 or two year contract. So why do I have this from Vodafone? well, i won it in a competition!
Dell are coming along quite nicely with their range of laptops to be rather sturdy and reliable. This laptop is both sturdy ... ...some getting used to. Realistically, Dell aren't going to fit in a full size keyboard in there. I am used to it now so i can type quite quickly, but i do the wrong key every so often. The touchpad is also "mini" but it is enough.
Do bear in mind that netbooks are not to replace your daily laptop or desktop. They are really the bare essentials. With the vodafone built in, I can always be connected to the internet. If I don't want to eat into my allowance, ...

Advantages: Runs Mac OS X (patched edition) perfectly, easy to upgrade RAM and WiFi modules, great screen Disadvantages: Rubbish hard drive, hard drive can be expensive to upgrade, just like any other 9" netbook
...is Home Edition with some Dell software and utilities installed on it. Performance is what you would expect from netbooks with an Atom CPU, i.e. it is pretty nippy, and the best part of all is that the 1 GB of RAM is very easy to upgrade since it is located under a massive plastic plate that allows access to most of the internal, upgradable components.
Speaking of upgrade, if there is one place you would want to upgrade it would be the hard drive ... ...considering that Windows XP + Dell software takes up nearly half of the storage. The problem with upgrading the hard drive is that you have to purchase the correct sized mini pci-e storage card. A standard one that can be used in an Asus EeePC, for example, is too long, and the ones that fit are very expensive (£150 for a 64 GB upgrade? £255 for a 128 GB upgrade? Madness!) Some would say “Buy a SDHC 16GB card and install Windows XP on that then!”, ...

Advantages: Size, Speed, Comfort, Portability, Looks Disadvantages: Heat, Capacity of solid state drive
The dell mini has many things to offer. The best thing about this netbook, would be the 1GB of RAM. It makes the laptop very fast. The 1.6 GHZ Processor is also a good choice. To my surprise, the dell mini can play games! And good ones too! The bluetooth is very good. The battery life is amazing. The mobility of the laptop is great. Although the keyboard looks small, it's extremely easy to type. Many people look at this computer as a small netbook ... ...wrong. because i am a computer power user. and everything is great. I use top of the range 3d modeling software. and it is extremely fast. But with all of these good things there come 2 bad things: 1.The computer gets extremely hot after 2 hours 2. The 8 gb memory is extremely low. ...

...typical sized laptop and the Dell Inspiron Mini has answered all of my needs! The keyboard is a little on the small size, and the processor can take some time digesting tasks but when you consider the size of the laptop this is a small price to pay. I run everything from Photoshop CS3 to Office on my Inspiron Mini and it is a joy to use. The mouse pressure pad can be a bit sensitive at first, but once the machine is 'bedded in' it is not a hinderance ...

...edge nearest the display, but Dell chose not to fill it with shortcut keys. That said, if you can retrain your brain to know where a couple of wayward buttons are positioned, you'll find that the keyboard is quite good. Similarly, the mousepad is set to just the right sensitivity, and the buttons are firmly in place. The front-mounted speaker, located just below the display, came across as a little hollow. In this department, the Mini 9 falls behind ... ...online file storage service. Dell has crafted a solid mini-laptop that's good for kids and has plenty to offer anyone looking for an on-the-go system. The Inspiron Mini 9 isn't perfect, but it does offer a terrific design and a good price. I would have a tough time choosing this over Acer's Aspire One, but Dell's first venture into the world of mini-notebooks has produced a worthy competitor. I thought this article very good ...
