Advantages: Good sturdy corporate workhorse Disadvantages: Catch, foot & screws missing after one year of use
The Dell D series of laptops came out in 2003 to replace the C series laptops (how did they come up with such a catchy name?). The main ranges are the D400, D600 and D800 spot the pattern yet. The D600 is the middle of the range in terms of size, weight and features.
This machine has been designed like its predecessor to be a common platform (The C-series had 7 years in the same form) that will provide long lasting stability for those that use ...

Advantages: Many features in one laptop, great student computer. Disadvantages: No floppy disc drive.
...and the college offered us Dell Latitude D600's at discounted prices. I agree with their choice at picking this laptop, because it's a great all-purpose laptop for a wide variety of uses.
Okay, first, hardware. This laptop is not the lightest out there, for those of you wanting featherweight laptops, but I carry mine with me all the time in my bookbag and I don't feel the weight to be an issue. The matte screen gives crisp, vibrant images that ...

Advantages: Very robust, large screen & a solid performer! Disadvantages: Fairly large and can get quite hot.
...lot less reliable and the dell had good reviews all round - I have no been disappointed! The D600 does everything my home PC can do and more, with a lot less problems.
The laptop/notebook is not the cheapest out there but the value for money and quality of the product is excellent!
The only drawbacks I have found is that the hard-drive does get hot and you can feel this when you are typing; the heat is not uncomfortable however and is not uncommon ...

The screen gives crisp, vibrant images that are easy on the eyes, without any annoying glares at all
The DVD ROM is excellent because you can use it to burn CDs and DVDs, in addition to playing them.
There is NO floppy disc drive, but ...

reasonably good laptop. charging battery doesnt work after a while due to motherboard problem. this is common. otherwise an excellent machine. would recommend however be aware that after a while this may no longer be a portable machine as you will need to keep it in power supply.

Advantages: screen, wireless capability, long battery life Disadvantages: gets very hot.. not a great fan of the nipple!
...was pleasantly impressed with the Dell Latitude D600. I love the screen which gives crisp images. I appreciate the Centrino Mobile technology which has enabled me to keep using the Wireless access point which I have set up at home in my conservatory. It has a processor and enough memory to cope with the most demanding of software. You have to pay extra for a case but thats standard these days. The battery life is also a big plus point but I'll be ...

Advantages: Quick, reliable and good value Disadvantages: problems with overheating
I take my Dell everywhere with me. They're light enough to carry around and take knocks well. I have not had problems with it crashing or being slow, a big improve on my last laptop. The screen is a nice size and is good enough for watching dvds on or editing pictures. It is really nice to use and i run mine off windows XP. It manages well with multiple programs including the internet ruunning at the same time. However extra speakers for listening ...

Advantages: simple reliable value Disadvantages: can't think of any
brilliant. i have owned five Dell laptops and they have all been excellent. i had one that had a problem, howeveri had the onsite warranty. they were out next day and fixed it in my house. parts and all. they were consistent in their reliablilty and seem that way acroos the range. the smaller models were better than the larger types. i.e Centrino cooler than the P4 versions. this is similar in all Lappys though. i enjoyed the simplicity of setting ...

Advantages: Sleek, easy, fast Disadvantages: Not the lightest
This is a sound investment for anyone.
The machine is so easy to use that it would be perfect for a first-timer. At the same time, it has everything the more advanced user requires.
It comes with Windows XP, MSN messenger and all the usual programmes.
The on-screen style and layout are very clear, making the system simple.
This laptop installs all new hardware (printers, scanners) with complete ease, which is handy for those of us who ...
