Advantages Advantages What a luxury to toast four slices and not two.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Large size, not particularly quick at toasting.

--- OVERVIEW --- It was after our cheap £5.99 toaster failed us after 3 months (not surprising given the price) that our household decided to heavily invest in a new toaster. Having to wait for toast as the old one only did two slices a go was at times frustrating, now the merits of a four slice toaster are great as the toast now seems to flow quicker than you can eat it, no one in our house now has to wait for toast. --- PRICE --- Retailing at roughly £45 pounds it's not too bad for a four slice toaster, you can find it for a couple of pounds cheaper with a bit of shopping around. Its ... more

Advantages Advantages Toast 4 slicers, seperate toasting elements

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slots could be wider for thick bread, pop up does not lift crumpets high enough.

Delonghi Argento ******************** For the specifications and matching products go to : http://www.delonghi.co.uk/productpage.php?id=15&key=Toasters price around £49.00 Got mine Makro mail offer £58.99 for toaster and matching kettle. Looks ******** Delonghi have designed a very modern toaster with its brushed silver body that prevents unsightly finger and grease marks that you get on shiny stainless steal. Levers and knobs are all made to look like polished stainless steal, but are only plastic and you only realise this when you touch them. Size ***** The toaster is rounded at the edges ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looks, cooks 4 slices instead of 2, fast

    Disadvantages Disadvantages marks easily

I always thought a toaster was a toaster until I needed a new one! My poor old 'trusty' had given up on the world and left me with only bread for breakfast and thats an absolute crime when there is marmalade lurking in the cupboard. Hubby only likes lightly toasted bread whilst I am keen on that just burnt look, for the tastiest toast smothered in lovely butter (guaranteed to add pounds to the hips the way I do it). I took a little time to compare all the options for toasters at Debenhams and even took a wander to Argos and House of Frazer, not much difference in price to be fair so I bought ... more

Advantages Advantages Good toasting quality, looks good, neutral colour suits most kitchens.

Disadvantages Disadvantages controls a bit plasticy

Being a rather style conscious individual I had to have the best looking appliances for my first ever kitchen and the Delonghi seemed to fit the bill from both a style bill and a price point. It looks cool and retro and it’s beige colour sits good with any kitchen background. Alone it retails at £39.99 however I purchased the toaster with the matching kettle and got them both for £49.99 all in at Makro in 2007. Since then I have seen this same deal in other retailers so one definitely to look out for! Together it’s a bargain but I don’t think I would spend £40+ on it. Featurewise it has the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good design, excellent features!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none!

I bought this toaster a 18 months ago and it's still going strong!!! I love the design!...it's got a classic retro cafe style look about it and comes in a lovely cream colour. You can get this in a 2 slot or a 4 slot model. i have got the 4 slot which is brilliant if you are making a round of toast or toasted buns! You can set the temperature to different settings for each pair of slots, which I like as it makes it easier to cook to peoples tastes seeing as I like my toast almost burnt! It has got a defrost setting and also a reheat function which is great if you like to freeze your loaves top ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable mechanically, looks good, thickness variation good

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Toasting ability

I bought this toaster last year following the re-decoration of my kitchen, so I wanted to go with the traditional old fashioned cream theme and this toaster fitted the criteria perfectly (looks wise). The Delonghi toasters are a very well known stylish brand, they look good and come in either two or four slot versions, mine is the four slot toaster. Well things started off well and bless its little cotton socks it has never let me down mechanically, even after the barrage of knives forks etc.. that have been poked into it to get crumpets and the such like out (yes I know you shouldn't do it ... more

Advantages Advantages indepeendent settings for each 2-slices of the 4-slice toaster

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite big

I think this is a great toaster. Not just because it is a nice sleek design, but because its easy to use custom settings. It is a 4-slice toaster and the settings for one half of the toaster are independent to the other half. My wife and I like toast made on different settings so this is incredibly useful. We no longer have the frustration of having toast over-toasted because someone had used the toaster in the interim! All the basic features are included as one might expect from a top end toaster i.e. easy to clean removable slot at the base of the toaster etc. It is a fairly big toaster so ... more

Advantages Advantages crispy toast, never soggy

Disadvantages Disadvantages outside discolours , not at all durable

This toaster looks so good I keep it out on my worktop all the time, which is unusual for me. It cost a small fortune but I liked the look it gave my kitchen so much I splashed out and bought the toaster and matching kettle. I keep the kettle and toaster on the same worktop and I have noticed the toaster has gome a very slight duck egg colour compared to the kettle. There is a heat setting for each side of the toaster but there is not much difference, the low setting makes crispy pale toast and the high setting makes crispy golden toast. This is my second of these toaster, the fisrt one ... more
