Advantages: Uses pods as well as ground coffee. Good size water tank. Good steamer spout (easy to clean). Disadvantages: Coffee not hot enough. Drip tray not wide enough. Can't get a mug under
This coffee machine is stylish and versatile but I do have some reservations. I have this machine and a Krups at work and therefore have something to contrast it to. First the positives - it looks great, is easy for non-coffee hardcore baristas to use and versatile as you can put ground coffee, pods (of different types) and can make one or two-shot expressos. The milk frother has a clever plastic cover and valve which are easy to remove and clean ... ...would need scrubbing. It's also relatively cheap when you compare it to brands like a gaggia. The other thing I like is the warm-plate on the top which keeps your cups warm. It also has a big enough water tank to keep you going on coffees for a working day without having to refill. Now the negatives - this is the second one I have had as I had to take the first one back to the shop as the pipe internally to the steamer must have come adrift (lots ...

Advantages: style, cost, good coffee Disadvantages: you need the follow tip to avoid the mess!
...out. After contacting the Delonghi help desk - 45 mins to get through! They said it sounded like a fault. Got a second one and the same problem. Whittards, my local high street coffee shop suggested that I release the pressure on the steam arm after producing the coffee and try a bit of a courser ground. Great! I now tap out the ground rather than pour out a soupy slurry!
The top of the machine gets hot- it is supposed to as it is designed to pre-warm ... ...measures 24cm deep by 34cm high and 30cm wide. I can fit 6 little espresso cups on the heating tray on top. On the right hand side you have a water container that you need to fill. Basically you fill the tank by pulling it sideways. There are intake tubes that you need to move out of the way- a floating ball gives you an idea of how much is left. You pre-heat the machine by pressing the on button, attach the empty filter basket, and then, when the ...
