I nearly died from Depo Provera & think it should come with a warning before it's given. It's a contraceptive injection that is given to women as 1 injection in the buttock. They contraceptive effects last approximately 12 weeks. The medicine comes in small vials that the Dr open to inject into you. I call the depo the fat injection because this is what I feel it is. After having my daughter I decided to breast feed and as the pill I had been taking since I was 14 (Microgynon 30) affects the flow of milk I had to go on the mini pill. I have been having the depo provera injection for 15 years. When I started it, I had no intention of ever having more children so I wasn't worried about the long term effects if I may want children in the future.
