    Strupar was born in Croatia. He startes his career with Spansko Zagreb, one of the smaller clubs in Zagreb. In 1994 he made the move to the Belgian club Racing Genk. At that moment Genk played in our first division. In his second year with Genk, Branko Strupar lead his team towards promotion to our premier division. In only his second year in the premier division Branko Strupar became top goalscorer with 22 goals. The same season (1997/98) Genk became vice-champions and won the cup.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Freezing in the middle of winter!

    My love of Derby County started back in the early 1970's. As I live in Derby, I decided to give the local football team. Well. that was it, from that moment on I was in love with Derby County Football Club. I now have a season ticket and go to as many away games as I can. Believe me, Derby are a different team this season. Craig Burley, although injured at the moment, is pivotal in our rise up the table. Bjørn Otto Bragstad, Youl Mawene and Danny Higinbotham will be great defenders for us, they just need to adjust or settle down to premiership playing. Kinkladze is a super hero already, his ... more

    Advantages Advantages We can only improve on kast season's performance

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Kinkladze is out for the first month already

    We have the ability to stay up this year and even push for Europe. In our first couple of seasons, we out-did anyone's expectations and shocked a lot of people who thought we would go straight back down. Last season was terrible and a lot of Forest fans were probably rubbing their hands. There wasn't really any logical reason for how bad we were. We do have the players to do the job. When you look at the class we have in the side i.e..Burley; Kinkladze; Johnson; Poom; Carbonari etc.. there is great potential. I think we have a great midfield General in Craig Burley and hopefully this season ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The manager is 'old school' , stck in the past

    Everybody this season is tipping Derby County Football Club for relegation. But i ask this question, why? If you take out last seasons disastre Derby have finished 16th, 12th and 8th respectivly since gaining promotion from division one and moving from the Baseball ground to Pride Parl. When Derby finished 8th their squad was significantly weaker than it is now, so i think that this season derby will be staying up for for and i see no reason why derby can not challange for Europe and win a cup.     A couple of years everybody was amazed at Derby’s Premiership campaign however, last year ended up with a less than expected 16th place. This time round I believe that they will survive the campaign and improve slightly to 15th place. This may all change though depending on how Georgi Kinkladze recovers from his hernia operation. A couple of seasons ago, Kinkladze set the Premiership alight with Manchester City and he was destined for the top clubs. Things seemed to have gone a bit wrong for him since though, and he is now back in the Premiership at what could be a bargain £3 million providing ... more

    when Derby first got into the Premiership I though where did they come from? They replaced Nottingham Forest in a sense, and now will, unevitably go the same way as them. They had a great player in Paulo Wanchope, but still have some greats like Strupar and Poom, but i don't think they'll survive this season. They haven't made any really important signings, and although narrowly escaping relagation last season - thanks to some decent performances and player and team effort, I don't think they can match most of the teams this year.     Derby didn't show much skill last season as they stuggled for relegation. They aren't atracting the players they need to make an sort of an assult on the big boys at the top. It may be time for Jim Smith to let someone younger take over at Pride Park. I expect them only to beat the likes of Southampton and Charlton and will probably go down with them. With little up front and little in defence they will do well not to finish 20th. I predict Derby to stay at the bottom once they have got there and finish 19th. ... more

    Ok, so Derby County may no longer be a major force in the top flight of football but the good times are about to come rolling back. The club does not have the money of other top teams but with astute buying from Smithy, the 2000-2001 season is sure to be a success, most notably for the performances on the field of the one and only Giorgi Kinkladze. If you could only see what he can do with the ball. Each time he recieves it, you move to the edge of your seat because of the belief that he is about to create something special.     Advantages Advantages kinkladze when fit some good young talent.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages need to get more consistant.

    For a Derby fan it is very hard sometimes because we arnt going to win the league and we are a mid table club. But then when you hear that your top players are missing for the opening day of the season you start to wonder if there will every be any luck for Derby. When we signed Kinkladze on loan he missed alot of games because of the flu, and now we have him injured for the the opening day along with 3 other first team players. Craig Burley and Stefam Schnoor are both banned for the opening game and a long with Kinkladze Carbonari is also injured. So it isnt a good start but i think on a ... more

    Derby they will stay up after all, and I know they did struggle last season, but no one can fault what they achieved in the past three seasons with two finishes in the top half of the table. Now with the new season coming fast and furious its time to look a head to the future and think big. Because with the lesson of nearly being relegated last season and with new players I think that these will both combine together and set Derby up nicely for the new season. Derby have a good striking partnership, a good Mid-field and a mixed strong defence with both young talent and experience. So I think ... more
