Advantages: Cleanser & Mask in One, Does the Job Disadvantages: Pricey, Rather Smelly, A Little Messy
...until I came across the Dermalogica Skin Care range. The Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser was the first product to appear on my bathroom shelf and I still maintain to this day that it was this product that saved my life and returned my skin to its natural glory!
* The Range *
The Dermalogica range was founded in 1986 in Los Angeles (as most good products do tend to originate from the USA this one is no different) by The International Dermal Institute ... ...Other products included in the Dermalogica range include: -

...thanks to this and the dermalogica anti-bacterial face wash. She like me, uses it to prevent and clear up the odd few spots.
I have very sensitive skin therefore it is not uncommon for me to suffer a sudden flare up of painful spots. I use the clay cleanser most days and when these breakouts do occur (perhaps every 5 weeks or so) this product is excellent in calming them down.
For best results you should massage it onto wet skin for approximately ... ...still a third left.
Dermalogica is reknown for being the world's leading skin care brand. Unlike other cheap harsh brands such as St. Ives or Clearasil they really do offer results. This is why you would have to pay that bit extra. However in the long term I feel it is worth it as it lasts for so long.
I would advise shopping around for the best price. I purchased mine new off ebay for £13. Well below the market retail price.

Advantages: Does what it says on the bottle Disadvantages: Can be messy, longer to apply, menthol frangrance irritates my eyes.
...was first introduced to the Dermalogica range, by my beautician and tried a variety of their products, which are lovely to use, always light, mostly frangrance free and hypoallergenic (less likely to provoke an allergic reaction).
Even at 38, I'm still prone to the ocassional break out, which is an absolute pain. Not only do my spots last longer, but having darker skin, I'm always left with a dark scar where the blemish was.
I've been using Dermalogica's ... ...messy, takes more time to apply and remove and the menthol fragrance does make my eyes sting and water slightly, but this is probably because my eyes are naturally sensitive. Also the Dermalogica range is not cheap, prices start from about £15. I would, however, definately reccommend this product. ...

Advantages: It helps with breakouts Disadvantages: Quite expensive
I had never heard of this range of beauty products until I went on my hen party to our local spa.
We had a fab time, facials and massages and pedicures, we felt a million dollars afterwards. I was very impressed with the facial that I had. it was so relaxing and my skin felt so soft and nice afterwards i couldn't stop touching it to feel how nice it was. I wanted to have this feeling at home so i asked them what products they had used and they replied ... ...the only place you can buy it. I think you may be able to get it off the internet now as well. I choose to buy the cleanser, active moist and a moisture masque. It came to £60 in total, the clay cleanser was about £25.00 but you get a massive amount for your money.
You only need a small amount of the product and you should use it twice in one wash. Wash with it first, then rinse and wash again. The clay is pure white in colour, it feels cool and ...

Advantages: It works Disadvantages: It's expensive.
Since I was eleven I suffered from acne (suffered in past tense as now I consider self well recovered!!) And it wasn't until I turned 16 that I discovered a small gap in the clouds.
We all know what its like to be pickled at one point or another in our lives and many times we just go into a shop look at the reasonably priced products designed for fast spot relief! But honestly can anyone say that they got what they paid for?
I used to use 'Clearasil' ... ...of spots. Honestly, they occasionally did the job but, I didn't want to a cleaner that could cause permanent skin damage.
Cheap adhesive cleansers such as Clearasil use a large amount of alcohol in their product, this does get rid of spots, but eventually it rips of your skin leaving it dry, dull and lifeless - spots included.
Other brand products promising to clear acne are often unreliable and real care in choosing the right product is essential.

Advantages: Good for oily skin, 2 in 1 Disadvantages: can be drying, menthol smell
I recently received a dermalogica facial, and this was used as both my cleanser and a mask. I then bought a sample pack, for oily skin, with this cleanser in it.
The cleanser itself is in very simple plain packaging. It's a while bottle with a grey push lid, with grey writing on the front.
This is a light coloured runny liquid with a strong menthol smell. For a cleanser, it didn't foam for me, & with that, I found it harder to see it working. The ... ...skin actually felt very tight and tingly. I have used this for a few days now, with no noticeable results. It is easily washed off though, but the smell lingers a bit for me.
It is very easy to overuse this as well, due to the very runny liquid cleanser.
This is for oily skin, and may suit someone without the dry patches that I get on my cheeks, but I found this dried out my skin too much and left it feeling very tight. It is also slightly skingy ...

...invovles facials and we use dermalogica products, after having studying and taken quite an indepth look at all the products i have nothing but praise for this cleanser....
for people with oily and problamatic (i.e. spotty blemish prone) skin this is a godsend! works well on its own but is better combined with the other products in the dermalogica range obviously time and care has been taken to create all these products and they known there stuff!
... ...a clay based cleanser and does tingle when it is first placed on the skin but not to worry as this just means its working!
the benifits to this cleanser are huge you will instantly notice the difference in your skin, it removes make up effectively, and with regular use you'll notice your spots are significantly reduced!
im not saying that this is some sort of miricle product .....but let me tell you its the next best thing!

...until recently that I tried Dermalogica products whilst spending the night with a friend. Immediately after using it, my skin felt cleaner than normal and I didn't suffer any breakouts in the days following use. So, I duly bought the oily skin kit which includes the dermal clay cleanser, but in a trial type size so, if I found it didn't suit my skin, I wouldn't have wasted too much money. I am now a Dermalogica convert!! I use it most days, morning ... ...The only "disadvantage" is the price, but the way I see it, it isn't much of a disadvantage - the products last ages, and actually work, unlike the cheaper counterparts. Also, if you shop around on the internet, you can get hold of genuine Dermalogica products sold with big discounts. ...

Advantages: effective, does the job Disadvantages: price
I've started using Dermalogica after going to a Beauty therapist for a facial. I have a sort of adult acne well let's just say my skin is a constant problem! Anyways since using dermalogica I've noticed a definate improval. I feel dermalogica really research their products.
The dermal clay cleanser like the name says is a clay! It's packed with menthol and has a tingly feeling (must be all the menthol) which really wakes you up in a morning and ... ...clays (clay helps to withdraw impurities) and ivy and lemon to remove excess oils. The cucumber and sage soothe irritation.
You only need a small amount about the size of a 5p coin. It costs about £15 - £22 depending on if you buy off ebay or from a beauty salon.
To conclude: love the smell and I love the tingly feeling it gives my skin! ...
