Advantages Advantages You'll buy it because it has that Dettol reputation and it works!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be difficult to remove stubborn stains quickly, can leave dry hands sore & painful.

I remember the year Dettol came out with their surface cleaner spray! My parents brought me up on Dettol- whenever I had fallen playing football or just outdoor pursuits climbing trees and generally having fun as a child (do children these days ever go outside, other than to credit their mobiles?) but putting up with the awful smell of Dettol. Long before the company ever brought out a way of keeping surfaces clean with a likeminded hygiene spray, my dad used to water down Dettol in a spray bottle and go about the kitchen quite liberally – you never put down food such as a bread without a ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, kills germs and bacteria, gentle on skin, no harsh smell or aftertaste

Disadvantages Disadvantages RRP is more expensive than other brands, not strong enough to remove smell of mould

As a mother of three young children, I seem to spend a rather large proportion of my time cleaning up after them! Speed is important to me and, to be honest, I generally prefer the convenience of disposable cleaning wipes for most jobs around the kitchen. There are some tasks where wipes just don't cut the mustard, however, and here I turn to the tried, tested and trusted power of Dettol Ani-Bacterial Surface Cleanser. Dettol is a household name that I remember well from my own childhood. We aways had a rather ominous bottle of foul smelling brown liquid lurking in the cupboard, which was ... more

Advantages Advantages cleans very well, reasonable price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Leaves smell on hands

I have to confess that for me cleaning consists of using wipes but I always have a bottle of Dettol in my cupboard for days like today when my boys are ill, as I like to clean everything that they have been using so the germs don’t gets passed on to each of my three boys. ~~PACKAGING~~ The Dettol comes in a clear plastic bottle which shows the clear liquid inside. On the front of the bottle there is a label which has the Dettol logo on and the claim that this is an anti-bacterial surface cleaner. On the back of the bottle is a label which contains all of the product information and warnings ... more

I take pride in my home and I love cleaning and I always like to use products that work well to save time and do the job and I am always trying new products when they come on the market to see if I like them or not. The choice of these product is so wide it is sometimes very hard to pick one but I usually buy the ones that are on special offer or that are a little cheaper than some of the others or even just because the catch my eye. This surface cleaner comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a trigger spray nozzle and the top of the nozzle is blue and the nozzle is red, it is very easy to ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use and low odour spray.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Runny consistency makes cleaning vertical surfaces messy but problem is easily solved

While I am happy to clean the majority of my home with hot water and elbow grease, I like to use an anti-bacterial product in my bathroom and kitchen. I have used Dettol disinfectant around my house for years, and so I trust the brand to produce reasonable quality products. The classic brown Dettol liquid has it's uses but it smells rather strongly so I tend to look for a milder product to use everyday. I bought the Dettol anti-bacterial Surface Cleanser Spray in my local corner shop for £1.29 - this is for a 500ml bottle. The spray is said to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including ... more

Advantages Advantages Great results, easy to use, value for money, antibacterial, no strong scent.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing to note.

I am always on the lookout for a bargain when it comes to all things 'household', as prices for cleaning products can be quite high. This is particularly the case for premium branded items, and the Dettol range falls under this category in my opinion. Dettol do have a large range of cleaning products, and they have a product for the vast majority of tasks within the house. First impressions The packaging of the Dettol Antibacterial Surface Cleaner Spray is quite simple. The container is a solid white coloured bottle with a blue and white spray top. The solution inside the bottle is clear and ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages No proper ingredients on the bottle, need to visit website for these

Dettol Surface Cleanser is one of my favourite household cleaner. I personally like this product as it kills 99.9% of germs is an anti-bacteria and does not contain bleach. You can simply spray Dettol on which ever surface you wish to clean, wipe, and there is no need to rinse, it is perfectly safe to leave to dry. Dettol Surface Cleanser comes in a clear bottle with a red and blue spray lid. It has a blue and white label on the front with the Word Dettol written in a green circle on the middle. On the bottom right hand side it says anti-bacterial surface cleanser and in very small letters in ... more

Advantages Advantages No bleach- so doesn't have that awful smell and stain clothes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't clean my cooker as well

I have always been a fan of Dettol products. The very first cleaning product I was introduced to was the 'Dettol Surface Cleaner'. My grandfather and my Father swore by this product and had no other surface cleaner in their home. Firstly, Dettol states that the product: 'kills 99.9% of bacteria, including E.coli, Salmonella, MRSA and the Flu virus. With non bleach, no taint, and no odour, it is suitable to be used around baby equipment and food preparation tool.' This is something that anyone buying cleaning products would like to hear, because it is doing exactly what you want a cleaning ... more

I have different cleaning products for different rooms in my house - specialist kitchen and bathroom sprays, polishes for the bedrooms, wipes for the living room.....the list goes on. The one constant that I use in all rooms, even the baby's, is my Dettol Anti-Bacterial Surface Cleaner Spray. The spray is a clear liquid and comes in a clear plastic trigger bottle containing 500ml, with a blue plastic trigger. The spray is said to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including E.coli, Salmonella, MRSA and the Flu virus. This is the main reason why I use it in all rooms of my home, however it ... more
