Dettol direct floor cleaner

Cleaning my kitchen floor is a tedious job I’m not really fond of doing, like most people. Well I’ve seen that product on the telly that you don’t even need a bucket for and you don’t even need to rinse. Apparently you just squirt it on the floor, rub over with mop and hey presto it’s done. Well this I just had to try for my self, as it sounded so quick and easy. ...it was out with the Dettol Direct and the required damp mop and I set about the ‘fast and efficient’ task in hand. Firstly I vacuumed the floor and then popped the cap up on the Dettol. It has four small holes in the cap to make the product easier to apply to the floor surface and to be fair that part was a synch. As I have a delightful but messy six month old puppy, our kitchen and utility floors are cleaned at least once, normally closer to three times a day. I was using a standard squeezy mop with diluted floor cleaner but found that the floor was never squeaky clean, and having the puppy and young children about meant that using undiluted floor cleaner was a big no no. I also found that the floor took ages to dry, and the mop didn't take long to start ...

...I saw this bottle of Dettol Direct and being a sucker for "new and different" products, hurled it into the trolley. So, it's a floor cleaner - just how "new and different" is it, I hear you cry. It costs between £1.65 and £1.89, although I seem to be getting some good deals at the moment (2 bottles for £2.50 in Tesco's). I bought a bottle of Dettol Direct Floor cleaner in the hope of being able to do a quick kitchen floor clean, instead of my usual mop and bucket rigmarole. As we have a dog who delights in tramping mud through the kitchen on a daily basis, the kitchen floor does take a bashing and hygiene is obviously of prime importance, especially as we have visiting grandchildren, one of whom is at the crawling stage.
