Advantages: Top handsets for free, tariffs offering many free minutes and SMS, quick service, freebies Disadvantages: Small print, extortionate insurance cover, expensive calls if made at peak times
Answer???????
The Nokia 3310 I bought from Dialaphone! I’ve never really been into mobile phones. I had the outlook that if someone wants to get hold of me, they can call me at home or at work. I really only had one in case of emergencies. However, they seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper to own, and that is what prompted me to get one.
*** Where do you buy your mobile from? ***
The most common way of buying a mobile is probably via a ... ...You can browse the range, talk to a so-called expert about the features and tariffs, and supposedly walk away with the best deal. Another option is a supermarket……. you may not get the technical support but the phones are a lot cheaper – although you are limited to pay-as-you-talk phones. The other option is the one that I am going to be talking about, which is through a mail/internet order company.

Advantages: next day delivery, immediate (nearly) connection, loads of free stuff which you really do receive!! Disadvantages: 9 months down to 6, have to cancel direct debit after 3 months and also have to pay for the free 6 months, but then have to go through trouble of claiming it back again. WHY???
My story is one of worry and joy. I was worried because I'd heard somewhere before that companies like this never actually give you what they say they will. The reviews here on Ciao are very mixed. Either people have had very good or very bad experiences with them. There seems to be little in-between. That’s understandable though I suppose because they either do what they say they will, or they don't. In my case, the joy previously mentioned ... ...me what they promised. So what did they promise me?? First off I'll answer that question and then I'll explain it all a little more afterwards. "Ben, if you buy your phone from us, we will give you……"

Where do I start? I guess the beginning is the best place, so here goes ………………………….
It was a quiet night in, eyes glued to the computer, all the housework done and children sleeping happily away, then ……………………… my mobile phone rings. I had no clues as to who would be on the other end of the phone, my guess is yet another ploy to sell something to me, and so my advice from experience would be to keep all contact numbers as private as possible.
How ... ...greeted by a man, he did leave his name but for some reason it escapes me, and perhaps he did say what company he was calling from but to my knowledge I can not recall it happening. Any way the reason he called was because of a survey I had filled in over the internet, it was some to do with WAP phones, and he thought that I would be interested in on of there phone packages that would also include a WAP enabled phone. Like he said, as he had contacted ...

Shortly after receiving my phone I received a text message telling me to call customer services. I thought this was maybe something ... ...something else important but I was wrong. I called the number and was asked if everything was alright with my phone and if I had managed to figure out all of the functions. Then I was asked if I wanted to pay an extra £2 per month so I could have a handset upgrade after 12 months…..no thank you was my reply! Their argument was that if I wanted a new handset then I would have to order a new package and change numbers, I informed them that I ...

Advantages: Great deals Disadvantages: Beware if you need any after sales help!
I was attracted to using Dial-A-Phone from seeing their adverts in the press and thinking that the offers sounded better than anything else I could get. I was in the market for a new phone, so I called them and got straight through. The chap on the end of the line took my details and advised that they could deliver a phone to me in two days time. The following day I waited in all day at work, not even daring to leave the office ...

I wanted to myself come and warn others about this shoddy company, but it appears as though I am not the first person to do this!
I recently tried to order my third phone from dialaphone. The first two I must say went off relatively without a hitch (long story about them getting my gender wrong and refusing to speak to me cos I wasn't a Mr, but that's something else!).

I have noticed Dial-a-phone getting only rave reviews here and would like to send out a *warning* to balance things a little. I responded to the "FREE" phone/"FREE" everything advert placed in the papers by Dial-a-phone, obviously attracted to the idea of having my mobile in my hand and operational the next day, without having to pay a penny. Well, If you do want a brand spanking new mobile phone, then I recommend you check out the very marvellous Dial-a-phone....
If you haven't seen any part of dial-a-phone's vast advertising campaign, then you surely have been living on mars for the past few months. They have a vast collection of offers, from the four main network providers, Vodafone, BT Cellnet, Orange and One2One. On these networks, you can choose from a variety of deals on a variety of the most popular and latest phones on sale. They seem to be up to date, as they got the new Nokia 3330 within days of me knowing that there actually was such a phone, and that was a good few weeks before it was in the shops. I read in uk.telecom.mobile about a brilliant offer Dial-a-phone were doing, where they would pay the entire year's contract for you. They also offered £20 to connect a second phone. I was slightly sceptical but wanted to give it a go. The offer was for a Nokia 5110 on Orange Everyday 50. I phoned the order through, it takes a while so it's a good thing it's an 0800 number. (Internet orders are possible, I've not tried this.) The phones arrived next ... ...for some reason. You get 3 months' free insurance with almost all Dial-a-phone packages, which takes a few minutes to cancel at the end of the free period. It's an expensive premium compared to that offered by the Link, I wouldn't go for it even if I wanted insurance.
The £20 offered to me arrived in my bank account a couple of months after I bought the phone; I was not terribly impressed by this, but it was free money so I wasn't bothered either. ...
