Advantages: Very low maintenance required. Disadvantages: 240 volt needed, low voltage would be safer.
I have been using the Lotus Diamond pump for some years now and have found it to be a powerful and robust pump.
It has lived up to all expectations and although I have not cleaned it as often as I should, it has never given me any trouble.
The pump is very simple to take apart, clean, and re-assemble and requires no further maintenance.
I have found it powerful enough to give a good supply to the filter box as well as running a fountain, and I ... ...overflow problems with my filter box.
As with all 240 volt appliances in the garden, a RCD should be used in the power supply for absolute safety.
