Advantages Advantages Good picture quality, Fast card, 32MB mem, AGP 4x

Disadvantages Disadvantages "Dead" according to Diamond, Poor drivers (4.12), Concealled potential

I purchased this card in January of this year (2000). It had been recommended to me by a friend and initially I was very pleased with my purchase. As time went on I found that various newer games were not working, I assume due to the lack of Directx 7 implementation in the drivers I was using (4.11). Diamond released the the 4.12 drivers to fix this problem and some of these newer games started to work but on the other hand some of my older games stopped working! As many people like to have the latest drivers installed on their system they should also be aware of these points: - // The latest ... more

Advantages Advantages High framerates, great visuals, good value

Disadvantages Disadvantages No longer a top competitor by a fairly long way but for the not so serious gamer there is absolutely no problem

For budget graphics with great quality, look no further than a Diamond Viper V770. It is based around the fantastic TwiN Texel 2 (TNT2) engine created by the world leader in graphics cards, nVidia. The card is stable, has great driver support, and is capable of great visuals and framerates. It supports up to 32mb of video ram on board, running by default on a standard V770 at 150mhz (125mhz core speed). However a lot of these cards were built with a lot of headroom - as long as you have decent cooling, you should be able to bump these speeds up to 150mhz core, 175mhz memory, the same ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, great rendering, great colours and smooth

Disadvantages Disadvantages None so far - it has worked ace for me

Had this card for a while now, as recommended by my boss! Superb graphics card - fast, speedy rendering, juciy colours and lots of nice bits so you can change the settings, etc. very easily. For example, Monster Truck Madness II plays like an absolute dream. So smooth and sexy and yummy. There is no wierd side effects (like grahics disappearing or not rendering where they shouldn't! Same goes for Tomb Raider stuff - really, really good. It is the 32Mb one and that is ample for me. I know cards are always improving but until they come down in price and prove really useful I am sticking with ... more

    Advantages Advantages good price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Good price Good drivers Easy to fit into agp slot Much prefer it go my voodoo 3000. Fast gaming action, true colours. Easy to locate up to date drivers. Fifa 2000 plays like a dream with my Athlon 800. If youre looking for a good card on a budget look no futher. It's a steal, get one 32 bit colour used to be just a dream with my Voodoo but now it's more than just a Virtual Reality. The only thing missing from this card is a tv out so i may get an upgrade in the future. This one is hot but keeps cool in your case ... more
