I don't seem to have much luck with cars. My first was repeatedly vandalised until the fateful day someone pulled its poor little door off and tried to hotwire it. ...coming back to one company, Direct Line.
Since being with Direct Line I have had 3 different cars and with every car they come back with the cheapest insurance quote, and they allow me to pay it monthly. This is a bit of bonus as there is no way I could afford to pay out them amounts in one go.
Although this year they were only just the cheapest, by about £30, this year with Tesco coming in a close second. To get my insurance quote I visited their website as they actually give you a 5% discount for buying online. However you can also get quotes by calling them as well.
This year was my second year in a row with them without changing companies in between time and the renewal with them could not have been easier. All I had to do was precisely nothing! They sent me a letter two or three weeks before ...

...I have been insured with Direct Line for something like 14 years now, having defected to them when I worked for a very large well known broker, as even with staff discount, Direct Line's quote was cheaper! We currently have two cars, home insurance and life insurance with direct line, and I will ensure they quote us for pet insurance very soon. I have also taken out their one trip travel insurance on a couple of occasions. In fact that little red ... ...Back in the early 1990s Direct Line certainly revolutionised the way that insurance was bought and sold. Prior to that there were small brokers, and even large brokers, but the concept of doing insurance over the telephone was not great, and even for someone who gained CII qualifications, I remember one text saying something along the lines of "it is yet to be proven that these new companies will take off". How wrong that author was, with most insurance ...

...a recent TV ad for Direct Line that stated they don’t participate in comparison websites which is rather a brave commercial decision to make considering how popular these sites have become.

Direct Line was one of the cheapest and as it is advertised on television and the internet I thought it might be a good insurance company to start with.

...ops about our insurance company, Direct Line prior to this, I must admit, I was a little worried about dealing with them. They seemed to have a reputation for not living up to their 'easy to deal with, sorted out with no hassle' advertising claims. Advantages: Does exactly what it says on the tin (as it were) Disadvantages: We lost our no claims bonus
We chose Direct Line Insurance to provide our comprehensive motor insurance purely on the basis of price, in January this year. They quoted us around £200 cheaper than the nearest rival (More Than) could.

Direct Line, as their name suggests, is a direct sale company. Set up in the 1990s they set out to revolutionise the insurance world by cutting out the brokers (middlemen) and selling insurance direct to you and me, supposedly saving us time and money. Since their humble beginnings Direct Line have diversified into other areas, in each case cutting out the middleman and offering services direct to the public.
