Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, Unsure On Validity

The College Stonebridge Associated Colleges is one of the biggest distance learning colleges in the world which claims to offer over 600 courses worldwide. They are based in Bude, Cornwall, UK but distance learning can be completed either via the postal service or online. Postal tuition comes in the form of text books, paper books put together with enough information to guide you through your chose course in the hope you pass. As with all learning you are expected to source your own external material to assist your learning. This is the method I use. You post your work with a cover sheet and ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to understand studying material, great and quick tutor feedback, reasonable prices

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some questions require searching more information outside of the given study material

While deciding what to do with my life I came across holistic studies on some website and started looking into it. That's how I've found Stonebridge Associated Colleges. They have many interesting courses at reasonable prices. Before enrolling I had to make sure that the online college was legitimate. I have found many negatives reviews about it being a scam and many negative experiences with refund or tutors. I don't see what's the big deal with that. People are just to picky and they need to keep in mind that it is a DISTANCE learning college. How many people are needed to run THAT? Do you ... more

Having decided to take a career as a teaching assistant, I have found that Stonebridge College has given me an opportunity to implement this idea in reality. I am grateful the College for comprehensive and relevant course materials, well -structured units, a lot of useful information that can be applied in the real job, logical order of the lessons. The biggest advantage for me was flexibility of studying, no time constraints and very friendly, supportive and encouraging tutors. I would like to thank my tutor for encouragement, quick answers and helpful comments. This course has lasted for me ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages no disadvantage really, but you will need more reading (buy books)

I have started this course last month, and I’m already at my assignment 12. It says it all! I’m enjoying the course so much and feel excited reading my material and working on my tests! This is a 36-module course, covering so many areas in Holistic Healing, massage (Shiatsu, Anma), Colour Therapy, Crystal Therapy, Anatomy and Physiology, Parapsychology, CBT, Inner Child Healing, Life Coaching, and other fields. It might look long, but for someone who wants to focus on a Holistic career and who is interested in Japanese culture and healing methods, it’s perfect! Of course, you’ll need to ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Feedback and outstanding personal tutors

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have just completed the Security & Risk Management Course. From the very start, when I registered with Stonebridge College I found the admin team to be very helpful. Once I started my course and I sent in my very first test paper, my online tutor was fantastic. The feedback, help and encouragement that I received was second to none. I would fully encourage anyone who is working within the security industry and is interested in doing this course to sign up with the college and start it. Everything from the price of the course to the hard copies of my coursework that I received ran very ... more

I have just completed my final module in the Child Psychology Level 4 course with Stonebridge College and I must say I have enjoyed every minute of learning about the subject and in completing my assignments. The course was very well structured enabling me to progress at my own pace and because the course content was so interesting giving rise to my own further learning, reading and research motivation was not an issue. The modules were very informative, well written and very easy to understand despite the subject matter being positively mentally challenging with test papers at every stage to ... more

I completed ten courses with Stonebridge Associated Colleges in little over two years: Criminology (Level 3), Psychology (Level 3), Advanced Psychology (Level 4), Workplace Psychology (Level 3), Psychological Perspectives Work and Organisations (Byte Size), Foundations of English Law (Level 3), Conflict Management (Level 2), Basic Counselling Skills (Level 2), Stress Counselling in the Workplace (Level 3), Negotiating Skills (Level 1). I have no idea what the levels mean because I am not from UK. Reason why I completed all these courses was to familiarise myself with these topics and apply ... more

Advantages Advantages Can Learn at your own pace

Disadvantages Disadvantages So far I don't think there is any disadvantage

"Loving the experience " At first I was a bit worried about how could I learn by a long distance course and not having anyone to guide me through it. Even so I gave it a try and amazingly I found it great ! The materials sent are great. It's very informative and easy to understand. I'm actually learning so much from it. The college has really taken a lot of thought to create such great way of teaching. I have just started but I'm very positive about it. It was very easy to get my self enrolled, not complicated at all. Everything was easy to follow and very safe to pay. Before I enrol myself ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent course material, tutor notes, back-up services, associated reading.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can see!

Taking on a Drug and Alcohol Counselling Course with Stonebridge Associated Colleges was simply the best thing I ever did! I was wary, at 51 years of age, of trying anything that seemed like going 'back to school', but the course is fantastic. My tutors notes, which appear on every assignment that I send off are succinct, thoughtful and very helpful. On the occasions that I've phoned the college with a query, they have been unfailingly polite and seem to 'bend over backwards' in their willingness to help. I have been spending some of my time reading the recommended books for my course and ... more
