    Dixons.co.uk is a great web site for buying electronic goods! They have a huge range on offer, including small appliances, large household appliances, home entertainment and lots, lots more! I've used dixons.co.uk once and I have written about my experience here. I have also looked at the web site itself and how well it works.     I have never experienced such appalling customer services as I have with Dixons and would not wish anyone else to have to go through the same pain. They LIE, have truly incompetent staff, have no SLA's or flexibility, have incorrect notes, and have the audacity to call me a liar because THEIR notes are wrong. This includes their management who point blankly REFUSED to check the dates / notes again "as the engineers notes are always right" According to the engineers notes, they were apparently repairing my TV in my house when I was out of the country.. mmmmm does this mean I should report them ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No confirmation email, the option of a next day delivery would be an advantage for some.

    Purchased a dishwasher from Dixons.co.uk on the Friday morning. The price was £30 cheaper than the next cheapest shop. When I placed the order, I also arranged delivery for the following Monday. The website said they endeavour to deliver within 4 days. I received an order acknowledgement email straight away together with my invoice. The email said they will send a second confirmation email with a delivery code so that I can check on the Sunday night for my allocated delivery time.     Thought i'd post a quick review of my experiace of dixons online,I had been looking for a 42" plasma tv with built in freeview hd at a good price for a couple of months when i found out both dixons and amazon were selling the panasonic TX-P42C3b for 350 quid,I had a good look at both offers and even though amazon were offering delivery within 2 days decided to go with dixons with there 9-12 day delivery as i saw them as a reliable big brand name (as they are part of the pc world,currys group) .     I was reluctant to use Dixons for the purchase of our new LCD TV due to the large number of negative reviewss regarding their customer service and delivery. However as Dixons had a 12 hour sale which resulted in the TV I wanted being nearly £50 cheaper than everywhere else I took the plunge and placed the order on line.     Ordered a Samsung UE46B6000 TV on 26/12/09 got a delivery date of 29/12/09 so far so good.......i thought, the money was taken from my account on the 28/12/09 That date came and went, i contacted them on the 30/12/09 and was told that there was a system error that showed as having stock when they had none. I was told head office would contact me. 3 hours later i got a call from a very apologetic lady who said she would have to cancel this order and put it back on the system as a manual order and that stock would be in on the 4/1/10 which i accepted.     I have just had to return a second purchase from Dixons so far from happy with the. My first purchase was a Hotpoint washer / dryer which had clearly been used. There was water in the pipes, the drum and the draw where you put the conditioner (it had actually gone mouldy). I thought it was one of those things so I gave them another try when I wanted a LCD tv for the bedroom. I ordered a Samsung 19" as it was about £50 cheaper than everywhere else - I can see why now. as it on it was quite clear that there was a problem with the sound, mainly the right speaker.     Arrogant and incompetent. Prices and range of products are good but don't be lulled into thinking this is a trusted name. Their customer services are outsourced to Capita aka Crapita to anyone who has come across this comapny before. I ordered two products from them using a pricerunner discount voucher for which I paid extra to have them delivered on a Saturday. One turned up, the other failed to show. On contacting them, they first blamed the courier so I had to ring the courier and wasted another hour.     Disadvantages Disadvantages have to wait for when they are ready to deliver & youre 28 days start from perchase not delivery

    I bought a washing machine for £298 with delivery in a sale on 21/01/09, (which means they have had my money for nearly a month now, as paid straight away) was sent an email explaining delivery was on the 18/02/09 (a month nearly, thought ok i can handle that), had another, explaining the same thing, then had one more explaining will phone to arrange a four hour slot. The wife booked the day off work on the 18/02/09. So phoned on the 17/02/09 as had not heard anything since last email on the 07/02/09.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Staff are trained to obfuscate and be dishonest; impossible to get problems resolved.

    Truly dreadful service. SO many lies told - mis-addressed package, lies about when it was arriving, 5 staff lied about delays, different excuses each time, made up names so no way of tracing who said what, laptop took 4 weeks to arrive in the end. They refused to do anything about it, even pretended to write down my complaint but when I called the next day to pursue it, there was no record of complaint. Only way it was resolved was by threatening media exposure - eventually got £100 goodwill cash. Avoid this company unless you don't care about reliability, delivery dates, honesty or service ... more
