Advantages Advantages It smells lovely and the packaging is attractive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dries out the ends and greases up the roots!

A “moisturising milk shampoo” sounds quite exotic, eh? We’ve heard the stories from centuries of yore of the noblewomen bathing in milk so that their skin would be creamy and soft. There’s something about it which sounds very exotic. I had seen a few advertisements for this shampoo in the past few weeks. When I think of Dove as a brand I think of quality products, which are strongly perfumed, and packaged in simple, functional containers. Therefore, although I’d not heard any personal opinions on this product (and I neglected to check Ciao – cardinal sin!) I ... more

Well, for those of you that read my Dove Cleansing Bar review the other day, you will know that I am a great fan of the whole range they produce. I have since come to learn that a staggering 7.2 million women use at least one Dove product every week! Interesting facts aside, today I am going to focus my attention on the Dove Shampoo. The shampoo I use is the one for Dry & Damaged hair, however there are various other shampoos within the range for Normal, Coloured and Permed hair. The Dove shampoo for Dry & Damaged hair comes in a primarily white container, with the usual Dove logo. The ... more

Advantages Advantages soft, shiny, hair that feels great

Disadvantages Disadvantages at first it can be a little bit too soft but it is soon falling into place

I like to try most products when the come out. Especially if they are hair care products. My hair is very long, down past my backside actually so it takes alot to keep it in tip top condition. I find it essential to alternate your shampoos from time to time, so your hair doesnt get too used to one brand. If that happens then it will not work as well, which isnt what you want. So normally I will wash my hair about 3 times a week and have a good intense conditioning once a week. The only problem I had been finding lately was that the one conditioning wasnt keeping my hair going all week. Usually ... more

I normally use products from Lush, The Body Shop or Soap & Glory but bought a set of Dove miniatures for travel purposes. One of the products was the shampoo. This was the version for normal hair – I have dry hair but I don’t think Dove make miniatures of their dry hair shampoo. Dove state that this shampoo contains a protecting serum to shield the hair fibre and protect it from damage, maintaining the hair’s natural balance without weighing it down. According to the Boots website, a 250ml bottle costs £2.65, which is pretty good value for money. The shampoo is meant to leave your hair ... more

Advantages Advantages Works well, good price, leaves hair feeling great

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I have found

As you probably know I am a great fan of all things ‘Dove’ and almost always use Dove deodorant, but I had never tried the shampoo and conditioner. I had read a few good opinions here on Ciao so I decided to ask Father Christmas if he might find some for me and, as usual, he came up trumps! I have now used the shampoo twice (I did have some to finish – I haven’t only washed my hair twice since Christmas!) so I thought I’d better tell you what I think about it. The Packaging The shampoo comes in a flattish plastic container about 7 inches tall and 3 inches wide. It has the by now familiar Dove ... more

Dove Daily Care 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. I decided about a month ago to bleach my hair, not a great idea. I ended up with a burnt scalp and very dry and damaged hair. Since then I have been trying as many shampoos and conditioners as I can to try and restore and help my much damaged hair. So when at Asda I saw that the new Dove damage therapy range was on offer 2 for £3.00 I couldn’t help myself. Dove is a brand that I have used before and trust. I decided that because my hair is in such a state I would buy the 2 in 1 and the conditioner. I am only going to review the 2 in1 here ... more

I usually use Pantene shampoo, but for a change I thought I would try the Dove Shampoo to see what is was like. It comes in a 250ml white bottle, with a blue flip lid. There is a picture of a dove on the front of the bottle above the word Dove. It is not an eye catching bottle to look at, as it is just plain and simple really. It smells nice and you can smell the shampoo for quite a while once you have washed your hair. It smells like most of the Dove products actually, which is kind of fruity and soapy rolled in to one. It is not an overpowering smell either. To use this shampoo wet your hair ... more

I bought some Dove shampoo and conditioner in Tesco’s about a month back, it was new, I hadn‘t tried it so I though why not? It was on a 2 for 1 after all! When it‘s normally £2.49 for 250ml it’s a fair old price but was a complete bargain and I never stick to the same shampoo, always what is on offer. I bought Dove for hair that has been coloured or highlighted they also produce others such as for fine hair or normal (whatever that is!). The bottle is much the same as any other dove product, the white container with the blue Dove logo. You really can’t miss it. It has a flip top lid which is ... more

Advantages Advantages Reasonably priced and smells great

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not good enough for my very dry hair

I am addicted to the smell of Dove. I like it so much that I even use the deodorant, despite the fact that it leaves hideous white marks all over my clothes. So when I saw that Dove had brought our a new haircare range, I was over the moon. Now I could smell like Dove all over (and god help anyone sitting near to me who didn’t like that distinctive Dove fragrance). Dove products are made by Lever Faberge, and the haircare is the latest in a long line which includes deodorants, talc, soaps, bath foams and shower gels. Lever Faberge promote Dove as different from their products because of ... more

I have decided to let people know a little more about the Dove range products. This time I have decided to review the moisturising milk shampoo for all hair types. As some of you are aware I have tried the silk conditioner, and although I found the product good I found it not user friendly in the showers at the swimming pool. I do like the gentle smell of Dove and also the recommendation from the dermatology department of my local hospital. It is gentle on the skin and neutral pH. Today I was in the city starting to do my Christmas present shopping – Oh I don’t enjoy shopping especially when I ... more
